Location of the vehicle on the roadway: SDA

Chapter 9 of the SDA and Article 12.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses fully describe the rules, the details of the location of the vehicle on the road, including the incorrect location of the vehicle on the roadway. Penalty for the violation varies from thousands to five thousand rubles.

The main element of the road

In SDA, the carriageway is defined as an element of the roadway intended for the movement of trackless vehicles.

To streamline the traffic and achieve its greatest safety, the roadway is divided into strips, using special marking lines for this purpose. The location of the vehicle on the roadway, the rules this emphasize, must meet this condition. You can not drive a car into the markup. Exceptions are a discontinuous centerline (if rebuilding is assumed) and a continuous (if necessary, parking on the roadside).

Most of the car enthusiasts do not even realize that they are violating traffic rules, moving around the markings. Because the vehicle must be located within the band, and the driver must observe the necessary intervals and a safe distance.

Ideally, the following conditions are met:

  • TCs do not make changes (this maneuver is considered potentially dangerous);
  • All move, strictly observing stripes;
  • No one wants to go into the zone for a counter flow (this is fraught with a frontal impact or a tangent);
  • The left (or extreme) band is free (for rapid response services).

Roadway without designations

The number of lanes for the traffic flow is established, according to the traffic rules, by a marking line and / or signs 5.15.1, 5.15.2, 5.15.7, 5.15.8. Moreover, a two-wheeled mechanical vehicle is allowed to move along one allocated strip in two rows.

In the absence of necessary signs and / or scribing lines, the position of the vehicle on the carriageway is determined by the drivers themselves, while also taking into account the width of the entire carriageway and the intervals for safe maneuvers and vehicle dimensions.

As a rule, the width of the roadway in the settlements is within the boundaries of 2.75-4 meters, outside the boundaries of the settlement - 3-3.75 meters.

On the road without axial markings with movement in both directions for the counter, the left half of the road is taken, with pockets, passenger stops and other extensions of the carriageway not considered.

From the above, it is clear that in the middle of the vehicle can not move.

Multiband Roadway

The axial marking line in this case is always double continuous, so absolutely all maneuvers must be performed within the boundaries of its strip.

If the road with a stream in both directions has four lanes and / or more, it is prohibited to travel to the oncoming traffic area, as this is fraught with an emergency situation. Such a road requires motorists to make turns and / or turns to the left exclusively in places intended for these maneuvers or at intersections. In the presence of adequately marked marking the location of vehicles on the roadway (traffic rules, Chapter 9) for motorists does not cause difficulties. If the roadway is not marked, the motorist should be as concentrated as possible so as not to violate traffic rules.

TS, being on the marked road, are obliged to move strictly along the occupied strip. On the line of marking it is forbidden to drive (except for a rebuilding or another maneuver). According to experts, this can be misleading a number of the following motorists (they may think that the restructuring begins).

Separately, the traffic regulations describe the movement of cargo vehicles weighing more than 2.5 tons outside the boundaries of settlements. If for vehicles with a lower weight, it is recommended that the vehicle be positioned on the carriageway as far as possible to the right, then for the heavy trucks under the categorical prohibition there is a leftmost strip. Naturally, turning to the left refers to an exception, as well as a turn.

Three-lane roadway

It is also predetermined for traffic flow in both directions. Road marking divides the roadway into three lanes. The average can receive both flows, but only for avoiding obstacles, advancing, turning and / or turning left. On the left side of the three-lane roadway, it is strictly forbidden to have an oncoming traffic vehicle.

Within the boundaries of populated areas, the rules again rely on the principle "everything that is not forbidden" is allowed and indicates that motorists can move to any suitable strip for them.

Exceptions are roads with three lanes. The one in the middle is for reversible movement only. It is allocated with the markup 1.9.

Three-lane road with intermittent solid

Not very common, but present on our roads is a variant of three-lane movement, in which each strip is marked with a broken line. In this case, the location of vehicles on the roadway (the traffic rules emphasize this) on the middle lane are allowed to motorists following in both directions. But they must take into account that, when traveling to the middle lane, they make a permitted exit for a counter. Therefore, the assessment of the situation on the road should be particularly thorough.

Strictly forbid the rules to travel vehicles into the zone of oncoming traffic (the extreme left lane) of a three-lane road with intermittent markings. The offense is punishable by the withdrawal of a driver's license for a period of four months to six.

How is the case with a reversal on such a roadway? Prohibit it can a special sign, traffic rules or markup. If it is intermittent, there are no signs, the rules only prohibit overtaking or detour of a sudden obstacle, then a turn and a left turn are possible. You can make it from the middle band, from the right or from the curb. Before these maneuvers it is necessary to make sure of their safety.

Two-lane carriageway

The sides of the movement on this road are marked with a continuous centerline. Therefore, in the event of any obstacle, a congestion is created (it is impossible to cross a continuous one). According to the adopted changes in the law in this situation, drivers need to wait for an inspector who will give the go-ahead for a detour through a solid marking line of the obstacle that has arisen.

For this and some other reasons, two-lane roads are marked with a broken line.

Interesting nuance is in the SDA, dealing with a two-lane drogue. In particular, the rules do not specify that on such a carriageway it is permitted to travel to the oncoming traffic zone. Also it is not said that it is forbidden. And in our country, which is not forbidden, it is naturally permissible. Therefore, dislocation of the vehicle on the carriageway with two-lane traffic is difficult to prove.

On roads with a lot of bands, the situation is different.

Movement along the selected bands

In the presence of several lanes in one direction, in the places with a permissible speed regime of over 80 km / h, the rules for the location of vehicles on the carriageway indicate that they should move, cuddling to the right side of the road. With an empty right lane, occupying the left is strictly prohibited. It can only be used for various maneuvers.

In settlements where there are speed limits, cars have the right to move along a convenient strip for them.

Lane change

SDA does not prohibit rebuilding, but only in the case of heavy traffic. For example, if all lanes are busy, restructuring to meet their own ambitions is prohibited. An exception can only be the need to park, turn around, turn around an obstacle or turn.

It should be noted that the obstacle is a fixed object on the carriageway, which does not allow continuing movement along the strip.

Tram rails

The location of the vehicle on the carriageway for trams is possible provided that the following conditions are met:

  • Rails are located along with the direction of vehicles;
  • All the bands for trackless transport are occupied;
  • The rails must be level with the roadway and located on the left.

Use tram tracks (as an additional lane) can be used to make a turn (turn left), detour or move. And turns and turns (rules oblige) should begin with tram ways, unless otherwise prescribed signs of traffic. The main thing is that the location of vehicles on the carriageway with tram tracks should not create interference for the movement of electric vehicles.

Traffic regulations prohibit any movement along electric routes, if there are signs 5.15.1, 5.15.2 before the intersection.

Road with reversible movement

Move along it in the extreme left lane. And only for rebuilding the driver has the right to go to the reverse strip. Before that, he must make sure that the movement in the necessary direction is allowed.

Distance and interval

The location of the vehicle on the roadway implies the observance of the distance (this is some distance between cars moving in the same direction) and the interval (the distance between the sides of vehicles going both in passing and in the opposite direction).

Moving in the stream, the driver must maintain a distance, which in case of emergency braking guarantees the safety of approaching the cars ahead. For the same purpose, the interval should be observed.

The greater the vehicle speed, the longer the distance. The same condition must be observed on slippery or snow-covered roads.

SDA do not give clear recommendations about the interval or distance. It is said behind the scenes that the safe distance is half the speed. That is, at a speed of 100 km / h, the ideal distance is 50 meters (provided the standard road surface and normal climatic conditions).

Wrong location of the vehicle on the roadway

It always involves the imposition of a fine. Today it is 1500 rubles.

Low-speed transport, technically incapable of speeding over 30 km / h, as well as vehicles with a large cargo, are obliged (according to the SDA) to pass or overtake the vehicles following it. Failure to comply with this requirement is also subject to a fine (1500 rubles).

Traffic TC on the sidewalks, paths pedestrian or bicycle also implies a penalty. The location of vehicles on the carriageway, and on its opposite lane, for detour of an obstacle is punishable by a fine of one thousand rubles to one and a half.

Departure to the tracks of the opposite direction, as well as to the zone of oncoming traffic, is punishable by a monetary penalty amounting to five thousand rubles, or the seizure of the driver's license for a period of four months to six (except for the case described above). A repeated violation, fixed by any of the means of automatic photo or video shooting, entails the imposition of a fine of 5000 rubles. If the violation was witnessed by the inspector, then the driving rights of the vehicle will be stripped for a year.
