Many Russian hunters have long enjoyed the products of a machine-building plant called "Hammer". Three-line and self-loading shotguns from the "Bekas" series, Simonov hunting carbines, smooth-bore, and semi-automatic rifled models from the "Vepr" line are all the offspring of the plant located in the Vyatskiye Polyany. One of the first samples he produced is the "Vepr-308" carbine, the price of which depends on the performance.

History of creation

In 2010, seven decades have passed since the foundation of the machine-building plant "Molot". It was created during the Great Patriotic War for serial production of submachine guns Shpagin - PPSh. In peacetime at the same time, other products, from washing machines to skates, were coming out from under the machine tools.

With the onset of the nineties of the last century, Soviet industry began to decline. The defense industry did not escape this fate. And so, in order to survive, "Hammer" switched to a large-scale production of weapons for hunting. The Ministry of Defense reduced its orders for rifle models. And because the arms factories had to adapt their production lines, which produced army products, for products of civilian use. The first to do so was "Izhmash", followed by a similarly entered and located in the Kirov region "Hammer". Taking as a basis the famous AK, the designers created their own model - a self-loading carbine, firing a cartridge of the same size. The name of the model was given by Vepr.

Already in 1994, Russian hunters happened to get acquainted with a new gun, manufactured first under the cartridge 7.62x39, and a bit later - under .308Win. Over time, it began to be produced in a different caliber and performance.

The first "Vepr-308" was the most similar to the PKK. Only the trigger mechanism in which the self-timer was eliminated was subjected to changes, and new forms of hammer, sear and containment elements were designed. The "Vepr-308" carbine has a long forearm without an upper lining and an orthopedic butt.

The canal of the trunk is chrome plated. It is made by the method of cold forging. The "Vepr-308" carabiners have reinforced the locking assembly and the gas removal unit has been slightly modified. Those hunters who want to install a different sight on the carbine, buy weapons without supplements. It's much cheaper.
