Beautiful mittens with knitting needles (jacquard): schemes for different sizes

Among all the existing accessories for the winter, it's hard for women to knit mittens with knitting needles (jacquard). Schemes, even the simplest ones, mean simultaneous work with threads of different colors (at least two shades).

In the course of work, loops are executed in one color or another. A thread that is not used for binding remains from the wrong side of the fabric, and then picked up for knitting specific loops. As a result, a pattern is made on the front side, made up of multi-colored loops, and from the inside - a broach from unused yarn.

The rule of registration of the wrong side

You need to work hard to create neat mittens with knitting needles (jacquard). Schemes and description of the process of knitting are not always accurate and often bypass one important nuance. To prevent too long broaches, you need to know how to twist the thread correctly.

For example, the work uses two colors: white and blue. In one of the rows one blue should be executed after every ten white loops. If you just stretch the blue yarn from one loop to the other, then on the wrong side, long broaches are formed (their length will be equal to the width of ten white loops). In the finished product, especially if you make these mittens (jacquard) with knitting needles, the strings will become entangled when put on. This is bad, because when tightening the broach, the pattern on the front side can be deformed.

The problem can be solved as follows: tie three loops of white yarn, then twist the working thread with a non-working (blue) and again tie three loops white. It is important to guess with tension, so as not to draw the entire ornament and do not weaken the canvas (in this case the blue spots will be visible on white areas).

Similar torsions are usually performed through 3-4 loops.

Children's mittens with knitting needles (jacquard): schemes for different sizes

In order to bind the mittens depicted in the photo at the beginning of the article, you will need 50 grams of threads of the following colors:

  • Beige dark;
  • Ecru;
  • Beige light;
  • pink;
  • ocher;
  • sea wave;
  • Pistachio.

Of course, not all materials will be used, many will remain. They can be used on a cap or baton to complement the kit.

The diagrams below show the patterns for knitting with knitting needles. Mittens (jacquard), made in this style, will suit children and adults, but because of the difference in size, the ornament will be different. So, the designers have developed sketches for children from 3 to 5 years.

There are only three large flowers. The pattern is designed to make half the product (for example, for knitting the back of the mitten). To perform the entire accessory, the wizard must repeat the ornament twice.

The following scheme for children from 6 to 8 years.

Here, the height of the ornament remained unchanged, but to increase the width, additional loops were added along the sides. The icon resembling a barrel means that you should make a crochet and in the subsequent row to tie an additional loop. At the same time, it is necessary to twist the cap over when tying, so that an opening does not form.

After the main part of the pattern is ready (three flowers), the previously added loops should be shortened (the icon with a slash).

Large mittens for teenagers and adults

And the last scheme is designed for children from 9 to 12 years old and for adults.

The designer added one more element to the basic ornament: now you can see not three, but four flowers.

If the wizard wants to make even larger mittens with knitting needles (jacquard), the scheme needs to be extended according to the proposed algorithm: increase the width due to new loops or by adding a flower.

Next to the largest rapport is a diagram of adding loops to form a thumb (triangle). This is a necessary measure, helping to give the mitten an anatomically correct shape.

Sequence of work

With all of the above aspects, knitting the right mitt should be done as follows:

  1. Collect the desired number of loops, distribute them to the knitting needles and close in the ring.
  2. Knit cuff with any elastic band (about ten centimeters).
  3. Proceed to the implementation of the jacquard and between two neighboring rapports simultaneously with the main pattern knit a triangle for the thumb. The width of the accessory should be equal to the size of the palm at the base of the thumb.
  4. When the triangle is formed, its loops are transferred to a knitting pin, and the jacquard continues to knit in a circle without taking into account the removed elements. That is, the width of the mitten will match the width of the four fingers folded together.
  5. When the pattern is finished, you need to try on the product. When performing large mittens, several additional rows may be required.
  6. When the canvas reaches the level of the little finger, you should start cutting. In four places in each row, one loop is cut (for example, the first two loops on each spoke are joined together).

Completion of knitting

When all the loops are over, go to the knitting of the finger. Collect the previously removed elements on two spokes and knit the required number of rows (in the course of working on the product). Then cut two loops in each row until you get a neat tip.

So you tied the mittens with knitting needles (jacquard)! The schemes suggested in the article will greatly simplify your work.
