French knot - embroider masterpieces
For the first time, the method of embroidering knots appeared in ancient China, where this technique was very popular. However, it received its name for the reason that it spread widely on the territory of France. The seamstresses not only mastered the method of knot embroidery. They also introduced some new elements into it. That's why later this embroidery became so called - the French knot. The introduced changes are still used by needlewomen all over the world.
Why use a French knot in the work? The embroidery on the canvas in this case looks as bulky as possible. In addition, it is also expressive. The main area of application of the French knot is embroidery of flowers. Their size is not limited and completely depends on the master embroidering the picture.
With the help of a large node, you can create, for example, a large rosebud or a bright daisy core. Embroidery "French knot" is perfect for displaying small inflorescences, flowers of small size or second plan. To create a perspective on large paintings often use embroidery knots.
For the image of large flower buds, it is best to use light, soft colors. At the same time, small drawings will look good when using rich and bright tones. On the second plane, the "French knot" technique, as a rule, is performed in light pastel colors. Thus, the image becomes alive and voluminous, and represents a full-fledged embroidered picture. It can be presented to relatives and friends as a presentation.
A French knot is used when performing on the canvas of the nose and the eyes of animals. They can decorate hairstyles and dresses of beautiful princesses, depict fallen snow. The paintings, fully embroidered in such a technique, look adorable and amaze imagination.
- we fix the fabric in the hoop so that both hands are free in the process of work;
- the thread from the back of the canvas is fixed and pulled to the front side;
- in a direction from ourselves we wind the thread around the needle two times. In doing so, the thread must be as tight as possible;
- Again, pierce the tissue as close as possible to the place where the thread goes, and pull the needle to the wrong side. When pulling the thread inside out, it is necessary to hold and straighten the resulting knot in order to put it as nicely as possible on the fabric.
When applying the "French knot" technique, there are several small tricks. When you apply them, you get a first-class embroidery. In order to get a very large knot, you do not need to increase the number of turns, just take a thicker thread. The work must be pre-washed and ironed. Nodules carry a sharp needle. The design of the finished embroidery should be done in such a way that the glass does not press on the canvas. Then the nodules will look beautiful and three-dimensional.
You can use any thread for embroidering in this technique. Cotton mercerized yarns (for example, mulina) look on the surface of the fabric like small colored beads. French knots made of wool have a completely different appearance.
