Banderlogi: who is it and why are they needed?

Mowgli - the famous hero of the eponymous work of Kipling. Children read this book at a younger school age, it has a wonderful cartoon film, the name Mowgli has become a household name. This is what children are called, which for some reason are brought up outside of human society. True, they are not at all like the bold and clever Mowgli who skillfully used both human and wolf language, freely existed in the jungle and was able to settle in the village community.

In the "Mowgli" for the hero there are two worlds: the forest and the village. And in the forest there live mainly noble and interesting heroes, whereas in the village - mostly a gray mass of people. People at Kipling are deprived of nobility, dignity, behave almost like banderges. Who he is, he did not even know Mowgli himself for a long time. The acquaintance was unexpected, even somewhat dangerous. One of the stories about Mowgli is devoted to this.

Many of Kipling's works are written about animals. And he, like our famous fabulist I. Krylov, ascribes to them human dignities and shortcomings. Each beast is a special, complex and interesting person. It is not for nothing that for a long time luncheon Balu is remembered, proud and wise Bagheera, leisurely Kaa, the leader of the pack of Akella, the insidious tiger Sherkhan and the sneaky jackal of Tabaka. There are also banderlogists, who are they and whether they have any positive qualities, it becomes clear almost immediately after getting to know their flock. Banderlogies are monkeys who try to behave like people, but this is what exposes people themselves. All their actions are meaningless, they are subject to moods and influences, do not have their own law, and the law of the jungle is not recognized. The people of the jungle despise them so much that no one even wants to answer Mowgli's question: "Banderlogy? Who is it?"

If you seriously think about the meaning that Kipling put into his books, it becomes clear that under the guise of the bandergists he portrayed the crowd. It is the crowd that behaves the same as a herd of monkeys. In the crowd there are no personalities, no bright characters, it lends itself to an instant impulse: rage, enthusiasm or fear. Therefore, the question of why banderlogists were needed, who it is and who they symbolize, you can safely answer: it's a crowd.

In the book "Mowgli" everything is built on opposition. The jungle and the village, the banderlogists with their total chaos and the fully ordered flock of wolves, Sherkhan's cunning and meanness and the nobility and mercy of Akella. This is a children's book, so this opposition, the division of the world into two camps (good and bad) is quite appropriate. It is precisely such categories that younger schoolchildren think, for them it is natural. Before them a picture of the world, a kind of, of course, but very similar to ours, unfolds. In any case, the problems in it are the same: study, help friends, curiosity, disobedience and its deplorable consequences. Before the readers pass bright heroes: Bagheera, Kaa, banderlogi, Mowgli, Sherkhan and others.

Of course, this is an adventure, one of those where you do not need to search for too deep a meaning. True, sometimes it seems that Kipling wanted to say a little more than is generally accepted in this story. Children should read this book.
