Red flat lichen. Types and treatment

Red flat lichen is a disease that occurs as a form of dermatosis and has a chronic form. Characterized by the appearance of rashes, which have contrasting burgundy-red color. In this case, the form of the rash is diverse, and at the center of each formation a small depression appears. The disease is typical for adults of 30 years, mainly manifested in women.

The causes of the appearance of such a disease as red flat lichen

The main ones are:

- stresses, depressive states;

- chronic infectious diseases;

- allergies;

Weakened immunity.

At the moment, the exact reasons for the appearance of lichen are not established, but are merely of a presumed nature, and there is no evidence in favor of the fact that red flat lichen is contagious.

Symptoms

The main thing is the appearance of a characteristic rash. Initially, it appears on the elbow joint bend, the inner side of the thighs and forearms, in the armpits, some kinds of lichen affect the scalp, mucous membranes of the mouth and inguinal areas. Usually the rash has a brilliant glossy shade, it is a distinct red tubercle, in the center of which appears a small depression. Subsequently, the rash spreads throughout the body, can merge, forming specific claret plaques of various sizes. Another sign is the appearance of itching in the area of intense rashes.

Varieties and forms of the disease

1. Hypertrophic. This type of lichen is formed mainly on the legs. It is a warty layering.

2. Pemphigoid. Characterized by the formation of bubbles, filled with a watery liquid of grayish color, sometimes there is blood. Localization - shins and feet.

3. The ring. Red lichen planus in this case rapidly increases, forming plaques, and then there is healing from the center of the plaques themselves. As a result, specific red rings appear on the body.

4. Pointed. Most often affects the scalp. Affects hair bulbs, forming in their place an erupting spine.

5. Moniliform. Rashes are grouped in the form of a necklace. It is located on the neck, forehead, behind the ears, on the hips and buttocks.

6. Erosive and ulcerative. It is located on the mucous membranes, more often in the oral cavity. This is a rather painful lichen, there are edematous ulcers and erosion, heals for a long period.

7. Atrophic. Red lichen planus flows in a standard form, but after healing, the corroded seals remain in the areas of formation of the rash. In case the rash was observed on the hairline, this leads to hair loss in this area.

Red lichen in humans. Treatment

Diagnosis and observation of the diseased is done by a dermatologist, but if the lichen touches the mucous membranes of the mouth, visit the dentist, and to avoid the occurrence of foci of disease on the internal organs and esophagus it is recommended to visit a gastroenterologist and endocrinologist.

Since the reasons for the appearance of lichen are not studied, the treatment is mainly directed to the redemption of the itch. To do this, a doctor can be prescribed suprastin, zirtek or tavegil. Sometimes the patient is prescribed antihistamines and vitamin complexes, physiotherapeutic procedures are prescribed. If the patient has reduced immunity, then a course of antibiotics is prescribed.

Pregnant women and those who breastfeed in view of the ban on many drugs prescribe a course of calcium in pricks and ointment bepatene or depanthenol, which relieve the symptoms of itching and accelerate healing.

The disease lasts about two weeks, but it can flow into more complex forms, then the treatment can last for several months. Do not exclude relapse of the disease.
