Arsenic in the tooth

The transformation of a tooth from ordinary bone into a living organism is due to the nerve of the tooth or pulp. Because of it, the tooth acquires sensitivity and reacts to internal and external stimuli. Therefore, the removal of pulp is an operation, and produce it, having good reasons, confirmed by medical indications. And only in cases where the nerve can not be maintained in any way.

Caries is one of the main causes of inflammation in the pulp, which leads to its removal. Therefore, it is so important not to start this disease and seriously approach its prevention. Inflammation begins its movement from hard tissues (dentin) to softer (pulp), causing the edema of the tooth tissues. Which, in turn, causes painful sensations due to compression of the nerve tissues. This disease is called pulpitis. It requires early treatment, in order to be able to retain both the nerve and the tooth at an early stage.

If you can not keep the nerve all the same, the process of its removal is taking place - depulpation. Not so long ago this operation was painful and associated only with the most unpleasant sensations. Because dentists knew how to kill the nerve in the tooth, but it was not possible to anesthetize the entire process.

In our time, depulpation takes place using modern techniques and the latest equipment. Treatment begins with cleansing the mouth and teeth from the remnants of food, and then anesthesia is used. After the beginning of its action, the tooth cavity is cleared of carious formations. Then the nerve is opened and in most cases killed with arsenic. Arsenic in the tooth kills and nerve endings, and not only the tissue of the pulp, so the pain quickly enough to subside.

Dental treatment, which uses arsenic in the tooth or other toxic substance that causes mummification and necrosis of pulp tissues , has received the name - a deviation.

After the arsenic is placed in the tooth, a temporary seal is placed on top. Such a seal is set for a short period of time, for about several days for the purpose of diagnosis or for therapeutic purposes. For example, when the dentist does not know if the nerve is completely affected, or there may be more than one nerve in the tooth, then such a seal is established. If, for some time, the toothache has returned, then more research and treatment is needed.

Also, a temporary seal is used when it is necessary to close some medicine, which in time must be removed from the tooth. Most often, a temporary seal with arsenic is placed together, which is placed in the tooth for a short time to kill the nerve. For information, a temporary seal, this one is not the one that should disappear by itself after a while, but one that the dentist can easily and easily remove.

If no unpleasant changes occurred while the arsenic was in the tooth, the temporary seal is removed, and the pulp is painlessly removed. And further processing and the main tooth filling will also pass without pain.

The arsenic used in dentistry is gradually losing ground, although not so negatively affecting the treatment process on the body. Unfortunately, arsenic adversely affects dentin, which in turn leads to its gradual destruction. Therefore, in modern dentistry, a different method is universally used - immediately apply anesthesia and remove the pulp. Arsenic is used only in cases of allergic reactions or intolerance to local anesthesia.

The use of arsenic is especially contraindicated in pediatric dentistry, because it is impossible to calculate the amount of toxin that can kill a nerve and not harm a child.
