Ointment "Exodermil" refers to antifungal drugs intended for topical application. Naphthyfine is used as an active component in its composition. It is a synthetic antimycotic that is part of the group of allylamines. Ointment "Exoderil" has fungistatic, bactericidal and fungicidal action. The mechanism of its action is based on the ability of the drug to inhibit the biosynthesis of ergosterol in a fungal cell. Ointment "Exoderyl" causes a lack of ergosterol and promotes the active accumulation of squalene in a fungal cell. This, in turn, leads to the death of the fungal cells.

The preparation is also characterized by a fungicidal action directed to dermatophytes, yeast-like, yeast and mold fungi. Ointment "Exoderyl" is very effective against a number of gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms.

Local application of the active substance promotes penetration into the skin layers, thus creating its high concentrations. The penetration of naphthyfine into the systemic circulation is no more than six percent. The active substance absorbed in it is partially metabolized and exits the body with bile and urine.

"Exoderil" cream is prescribed for fungal skin lesions, which are caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to the action of the drug. These include epidermophytia of feet and skin folds, trichophytosis, fungal infections of the scalp, candidiasis skin lesions, fungal nail lesions. The drug is also indicated for patients with complicated secondary infection of bacteria with fungal infections and with otreichnymi deprive. Medication in the form of a solution and ointment (cream) is used only externally, tablets "Exoderyl" for oral administration are not available.

Apply to a dry and clean area. Applying the drug to the affected area, it is recommended to treat and healthy areas surrounding it. When nail damage is recommended to remove the affected area as much as possible before using the drug.

Dosage and duration of therapy is chosen according to the doctor's prescription.

Typically, the drug is applied once a day with a thin layer, rubbing into the skin area until completely absorbed.

In cases of fungal nail defeat, the drug is recommended to be used twice a day. The duration of treatment is about six months.

In cases of dermatoses, the duration of the course is usually two to four weeks. However, severe forms are treated longer (up to eight weeks).

For skin candidiasis lesions, the drug is recommended for use within a month.

After the disappearance of clinical manifestations of diseases, it is recommended to use the drug for a minimum of two weeks, thus preventing the recurrence of the fungal lesion.

For patients who have mycosis of the external auditory canal, Exoderyl is administered in the form of a solution. At the same time, the drug is first applied in small amounts to a cotton turunda, then it is put into the ear for five to eight minutes once or twice a day. The duration of this therapy is at least two weeks.

After applying the drug in any form, do not recommend covering the patch with a bandage.

After using the medicine, wash your hands very carefully.

As a rule, the drug is tolerated satisfactorily. However, in some cases, local adverse events have been identified. These include, in particular, redness and dryness of the skin, a burning sensation on the area of application of the medication. As practice shows, such manifestations are temporary and do not require refusal to use the drug.

The use of ointment during prenatal period should be controlled by the attending physician.
