Plantain large, medium, lanceolate or flea are the most famous species growing on the territory of the former USSR. There is this herbaceous plant (rarely half-shrub) in Asia, Africa, America and Europe. Although many people consider it a weed, but in fact the plantain grass is a miracle drug. It has anti-inflammatory, blood-restoring, wound-healing effect. Plantain, more precisely all parts of the plant, are used for medicinal purposes: leaves, roots, flowers and seeds. Medicinal preparations from plantain are suitable for internal and external use. In 100 g of syrup contains 5 g of water extract of plantain lanceolate. In addition, it contains auxiliary substances: water, sugar, peppermint oil, sugar beet syrup , potassium sorbate. In 100 g of syrup contains 25 g of water extract of plantain lanceolate, 25 g of water extract of mallow flowers, ascorbic acid and auxiliary substances: methyl parahydroxybenzoate, sucrose, propyl parahydroxybenzoate. Along with pharmacy products, traditional medicine is used.

Plantain grass is used to make infusions, tea or soup. Juice from the leaves of plantain improves digestion, treats enteritis and gastritis. When ingestion, the irritated mucous membrane calms down, bleeding stops, the symptoms of some forms of peptic ulcer are alleviated (water and alcohol extracts are used, but a doctor's consultation is required), excessive bleeding in menstrual cycles is reduced, used when blood appears in the urine. Malaria, hemorrhoids, many skin diseases (rash, acne, lichen), dyspepsia and dysentery are successfully treated. Due to its unique properties, it is used to purify blood or remove harmful substances from the body, for example, venom from a snake bite, scorpions or bloodsucking insects. Plantain relieves pain and irritation at the site of the bite (compresses are applied from the leaves).

Plantain grass has diuretic properties, useful for kidney and bladder. Drunk during the day tea, helps the separation of urine. Infusion from the leaves of the miracle plant treats ordinary cough, respiratory diseases, pleurisy, pulmonary tuberculosis, upper respiratory catarrh, bronchial asthma and whooping cough. Plant seeds are used to treat diabetes mellitus, male and female infertility, hemoptysis or diarrhea. Decoction from the seeds is treated with eye diseases (applied externally). Long time folk healers made compresses from plantain for the treatment of malignant tumors, or taken inside with cancer of the stomach or lungs.

According to its healing properties, the plantain herb is superior to all folk remedies, but before its use (except for emergency care for minor wounds, cuts and scratches) it is necessary to get medical advice. Patients with high acidity should not use this medication. Also, not with all forms of peptic ulcer, is the use of the drug. Particular care should be taken with the risk of blood clots.
