Anesthesia is conduction. Anesthesia in dentistry.

Gone are the days when patients were panically afraid of visiting a dentist because of fear of a bor-machine, to pain. The methods of anesthesia were imperfect or not used at all for the treatment and removal of teeth. Now the situation has changed. There were many ways and means of anesthesia with dental manipulations.

The method of local anesthesia, in which the trigeminal nerve blockade is performed, is called an anesthetic conductor. This method of anesthesia allows you to turn off the pain on a large area of the upper or lower jaw during dental treatment and during surgery.

Conductive anesthesia in dentistry makes it possible to conduct operations without the use of general anesthesia. The method is widely used in manipulations on the lower jaw and adjacent soft tissues. The process of injection is divided into two types: intraoral and extraoral.

Injection inside the mouth

Such an injection is practiced finger and non-dumb method. Conduction anesthesia on the lower jaw with the help of a finger is performed as follows:

- Introduction of a needle by a specialist in the oral cavity of the patient, piercing the jaw tissue;

- Direction of the needle with the index finger of the left hand on the upper edge of the terminal

Phalanges;

- Introduction of an anesthetic substance after contact of a needle with a bone.

Anesthesia conductor, conducted by a non-palatine method, has gained popularity in modern dental practice. It is performed using advanced technology in the following order:

- Placing a syringe between the lower canine and the second molar with the opposite

Parties;

- Immerse the needle in soft tissue for 1.5 - 2 cm until it comes into contact with the bone.

The use of this technique requires good mobility of the jaw. The patient should open his mouth wide. Otherwise, an anesthetic is not done in a non-palatine way.

Extraoral injection

With this method of anesthesia, anesthesia is most convenient. The operation site becomes better available for injection. It becomes easier to determine the place of introduction and direction of the needle.

But there are complications in the extraoral method of anesthesia. They consist in the most accurate representation of the location of tissues within the oral cavity, which requires a high qualification of the specialist. This is very important in order to preserve the patient's health.

Incorrect manipulations in the process of anesthesia can lead to disruption of important functions: speech, breathing, chewing and swallowing food, as well as aesthetic appearance. In order to avoid causing a defect to the patient, an anesthetic conductor made outside the oral cavity is rarely used.

Conductive anesthesia is popular in modern dentistry in the surgical manipulation of large molars. The method is also used for operations on the gums and in more complex interventions. To date, dental medicine has a large assortment of drugs for anesthesia.

The use of new equipment can significantly improve the process and quality of treatment. In many clinics, a noisy drill was replaced by lasers and sandblasters. They are noiseless, they make it possible to treat the oral cavity without causing pain to the patient. In this case, the painful sensations are removed not only from the operated site or the tooth, but also from the point of injection of the needle. A special gel is applied to the gum area, freezing it. And only after that the injection of the drug is made.

Turning to the dentist, you need to know the reaction of the body to this or that kind of anesthetic in order to avoid allergic reactions. In case of occurrence of an allergy in the past, inform the doctor about it.
