And how to choose a radiator?

This question is faced by all people who built a house and plan to put steam heating in their house, or those people who live in high-rise buildings and they need to replace old inactive batteries with better ones. Many people can answer this question at once, but most do not know everything, because there are enough nuances here, too, believe me.

And this issue is exacerbated even more when you come to the building store and see whole rows with batteries made of different materials.

So, it's worth starting with the fact that when the heating battery is replaced , not every battery can go to your house or apartment. And it does not depend on how much it will qualitatively heat your dwelling. The choice of battery depends primarily on the heating system in your home. What does it mean? Each heating radiator must be selected depending on the technical characteristics of the heating system. Such technical characteristics are the test pressure, the operating pressure of the system, the type of heating system, the diameter of the pipes suitable for the heating devices, and the heat carrier that will be used in your heating system.

I think you understand that if you get a radiator or a battery that can withstand much less pressure than the heating system itself, then your radiator will not last for a long time and it will end badly. Therefore, when buying or, above all, choosing a radiator or battery, you should know all these indicators. In any case, your choice should fall on batteries that meet the technical characteristics of the heating system, or to a certain extent exceed them.

The best batteries with large width and low height

If you intend to install the battery at the window sill, then it is not recommended to install a battery that is large. It is better to install a battery with smaller dimensions. An important indicator, which directly depends on the size of the radiator, is the uniformity of the heat spread. Radiators that have a high altitude, spread the heat very badly. The best option is a radiator with a small height, but a large width. It is this radiator that will heat your room better, and then replacing the radiator will really benefit you.

Much better is the radiators, equipped with a vent valve, a drain cock and a thermoregulator. In this case, the use of any radiator or battery will be the safest for you and your family. The role of the air release valve is to remove the air chambers in the heating system. Thanks to the installation of valves for draining water, many emergencies can be prevented. And with the help of a thermostat, the feeling of comfort in your house increases. I think that's understandable. When it's too hot, use the thermostat to reduce the battery's heating level.

And finally I want to bring the kinds of batteries or radiators that can be purchased. In our market we offer steel, aluminum, cast iron and bimetallic radiators. Experts advise to install steel radiators in houses in which no more than three floors. Steel radiators withstand a pressure of ten atmospheres.

Aluminum are considered to be effective and are calculated for heating systems in which the pressure does not exceed 18 atmospheres. Cast iron radiators have a high abrasive and corrosion resistance. Withstand pressure up to 10 bar.
