Historical reference

Initially, the airport of Yekaterinburg was called Sverdlovsk. It was formed on the basis of the military airfield Koltsovo in 1943. The building of the terminal itself was commissioned in 1954. Also during this period a hotel near the airport was built. Until 1984, only one runway functioned, and after that a second one was built, which made it possible to take wide-bodied aircraft.

In 2009, the runway was rebuilt, in the same year the new terminal was rebuilt. From this moment the airport can take all types of airliners. Yekaterinburg Airport has started receiving international flights since 1993. Since 2004, it has been ranked among the top ten airports in Russia by the volume of air passengers.

Flights

The airport provides servicing both domestic and international flights. Check-in for flights starts at least two hours before the scheduled departure time and ends in 40 minutes. Registration for international flights opens half an hour earlier than for domestic flights.

45 domestic and foreign air carriers make regular passenger flights to the airport in Yekaterinburg. Among these airlines there are those that are part of the international alliances SkyTeam, OneWorld, StarAlliance. Within the summer and winter schedule, charter flights also appear. Thanks to this close cooperation, the airport throughout the year offers passengers more than a hundred destinations.

The most popular international destinations are Bishkek, Astana, Dushanbe, Khujand, Osh, Bangkok and Frankfurt. Among the Russian destinations are in demand in Moscow, Minvody, Novy Urengoy.

How to get to the airport in Yekaterinburg

The modern modernized structure of Koltsovo allows passengers to get to the airport by all known types of public transport: a taxi, a private car, a bus, an electric train.

High-speed electric trains run from the city to the airport. Express to Koltsovo is the most comfortable and fastest mode of transport. The length of the route is 21 km. In the course of the route the electric train makes 9 stops. The general traveling time of the electric train is 40 minutes. Express runs only four times a day: 4.16, 6.58, 17.03 and 19.10.

On public buses from the major cities of the Sverdlovsk region you can also reach the airport. They arrive at Terminal A.

From Ekaterinburg to the airport, daily bus runs 1, as well as fixed-route taxis 26 and 39.

By car, you can get to Novokoltsovskoye highway. The length of the route is 11 km from the city of Yekaterinburg. Near the terminal there is paid parking, it is designed for 460 cars.

Also passengers can get in a taxi. Its average price is 500 rubles.
