Heydar Aliyev Airport

The largest international air terminal of Azerbaijan is in Baku. Heydar Aliyev Airport is a modern high-tech facility capable of passing about 2000 people per hour.

The first planes began to take off and land here in October 1910. Then the terminal was much more modest than the current one and had a different name - "Bina International Airport". Baku, Heydar Aliyev airport: structure

The station complex has a large parking lot, 2 runways (3.2 and 4 km), 2 passenger and 2 cargo terminals.

"Terminal 1" with an area of 65 thousand m ² , the construction of which was completed in 2014, serves international flights. This three-storey building, which has a triangular shape with rounded edges, resembling a fantastic spaceship. The facade of the structure is made of a stele reflecting the neighborhood.

Inside it is very spacious, clean, comfortable and beautiful. Everywhere you can see green trees and unusual structures of oak veneer, reminiscent of cocoons. In each of them there are cafes, bars or kiosks. 24 duty-free shops (Duty Free) are open 24 hours a day. There are ATMs, car rental outlets, bank offices, a pharmacy, a luggage room, a bureau of information and findings.
