Who is such a Khrushchak flour, how to get rid of it

Khruschak flour is a small bug that can be started in flour, starch or cereal. Its name was received by habitat and by an unpleasant crunch that publishes insects when they are touched. There are two types: black and small. They do not directly damage human health. But you will agree that this neighborhood is terribly unpleasant. And few people will want to use infected products.

Khruschak flour small - a small bug black , up to half a centimeter long. In the apartments appears in flour and in the groats, as well as in legumes: beans, peas and others.

Khruschak flour large lives there. Its larvae are even bred on special farms, they go to feed ornamental birds, amphibians and reptiles living at home. Some owners, in order to avoid additional costs, bred bugs at home using the same cereals or bread. It is clear that "leaks" and the development by beetles of neighboring territories are possible. This is facilitated by their fertility and unpretentiousness to the living conditions. But this is very rare, so if you find unwanted tenants, do not immediately find out who organized the "farm".

The main way that the Khrushchak flour falls into our apartments is the purchase of already contaminated products. Probably, many mistresses faced such problem: in a package with a groin bugs or larvae swarm, and it is hermetically closed. The reason is that the eggs of the pest have already been laid in the croup. Here, the only solution is to throw out the waste product.

What to do, if you have got a flour soup, how to get rid of this scourge? First you need to remember the main thing - it can not be poisoned with chemicals. The pest is in direct contact with the products. You can not be sure that everything will be done so neatly, you will not give a one hundred percent guarantee that the chemical will not fall into food. And as practice shows, the use of chemicals against these bugs is not effective. They crawl even into small cracks, where they leave their eggs, in three weeks everything will repeat again.

You have got a small or large flour-crust, you will have the same fighting measures.

  1. Beetles prefer a slightly moist and stale product. Take care that this does not happen.
  2. Store flour and rump better in tightly closed plastic containers. After using one lot, do not rush to sleep another. The bank must be rinsed and dried, pest eggs can remain in it.
  3. If the appearance of beetles could not be avoided, then the cereal and flour should be discarded, the containers and the cabinet where the products were stored should be washed thoroughly with bleach. You can, of course, sift and dry the product in the oven. But there is no guarantee, because someone will certainly survive. And bugs reproduce very quickly.
  4. Well on the shelves, where the products are stored, to arrange small bags with chamomile flowers, lavender, bay leaf, beetles do not tolerate their smell. They also do not like garlic. It can also be placed between bulk foods.
  5. There is another interesting way, it is used in industry. There, in bags of flour and croup, put a steel wire. And at home you can put a few metal caps from bottles or a few nails, only they can not be washed, otherwise they will start to rust, they just need to be wiped with a napkin.
