Most of the time, the plastering of walls takes place in the building. This stage takes away not only a lot of time and material, but also forces. Before plastering the wall, it is necessary to prepare it so that the material is well seated for high strength and long service life.

What is paste "Rothband"

More recently, cement or limestone has been used as plaster. But none of them yielded the desired result either in the rate of congealing, or in the service life. So, cement quickly froze, but no less quickly and cracked. And the lime mixture froze for a long time. Therefore, with the advent of gypsum, all these problems were solved. It has become an ideal material for wall plastering. One of the first companies that started to produce gypsum putty was the company Knauf.

"Rothband" - paste, designed to fill small irregularities on the wall. Thanks to the composition, it can be used both as a starting putty and as an addition to it. This mixture can also be applied as an auxiliary layer over the plaster.

Pasta "Rotband" is often used in rooms with high humidity, for example, in the bathroom. The mixture is also used for surfaces of expanded polystyrene and other types of wall coverings.

Features

Paste "Rothband" has the following features:

• Increased adhesion to the wall, which prevents the appearance of cracks in the future;
• Good plasticity, allowing to remove all surface irregularities;
• Fast drying;
• A low level of thermal conductivity and sound conductivity;
• Good absorbency of moisture, without a chance to crack.

In addition to the above, the paste does not crumble when grinding. But the main feature of the mix "Rothband" is that it includes limestone filler, which gives it plasticity. After processing the walls with such a paste, you can immediately start painting or wallpapering. This material can also be used to seal joints, and with reinforced tape you can hide and unevenness between sheets of gypsum board.

On the recommendation of specialists, paste "Rodband" should be applied with a layer of no more than 10 mm, although this does not prevent, if necessary, the thickness of the layer to be increased. But this will have to work in several stages, in order to avoid falling off the plaster. It is not recommended to make a thickness of more than 50 mm, in this case it is better to sew the walls with plasterboard.

Mixtures "Rotband": paste "Profi"

This mixture is supplied in plastic buckets, weighing from 5 to 18 kg, depending on the amount of work required. Has a pasty appearance. The main area of its application is the leveling of the walls and their decoration.

It is delivered mostly in white, but other options are possible. The advantage of such a paste is its resistance to frost, which makes it possible to transport in the cold season. Even with full freezing, the paste does not lose its properties.

The distinctive features of the "Pro" pasta are:

• Adhesion (high adhesion);
• Greater density of paste than usual;
• Resistance to frost;
• Dense consistency;
• Longer shelf life (9 to 12 months).

Due to its plasticity, the paste is ideal for the final puttying of walls. It saves not only time, but also money. But to work with this mixture you need to know several rules:

1. Before applying, the surface must be cleaned of dirt.
2. Expand the cracks for better bonding.
3. After puttying, polish the surface.

Pasta "Rotband Finish"

The composition of the finish putty Knauf includes a polymer mixture with marble flour. Apply paste not only on already plastered surfaces, but also on cement blocks and plasterboard. This putty is environmentally friendly and does not emit harmful substances for the body.

Use of material

Paste "Rothband" is applied in several ways:

1. The solution must be applied to the walls with a large spatula in a small amount from the bottom up. The tool should be pressed against the wall as tightly as possible. The action should be repeated several times. It is very important to ensure that there are no holes left and no divorce after application. This method helps to achieve an even surface. After applying putty should walk on the surface of the grinder.
2. This method consists in double paste on the wall with small strokes on the entire surface. This will reduce the need for additional grinding.
