In Moscow, the first oil fluid was brought from Ukhta in the time of Boris Godunov. Then it was called "fire water".

The turning point in the history of the fuel industry was the construction of the first tower in Baku: the oil flowed by the river. Then it was cleaned of impurities and used for kerosene lamps.

Despite the development of the oil field , coal is used as fuel in many industries. Oilmen's Day is a celebration of courageous, strong, purposeful people who are able to overcome obstacles and work in harsh conditions.
