What to do if the proxy server refuses to accept connections

Sometimes a proxy server refuses to accept connections. Therefore, we describe how to properly configure this element in the browser (for example Mozilla Firefox). This solution will allow surfing the Net anonymously.

Necessary actions

If the proxy server refuses to accept connections, you can fix this problem, but first of all you must delete the cookies from the browser. We have to clarify the valid IP-address. This can be done through special resources. When you set up an IP address, do not use a proxy. Having received this data, after the termination of adjustment it will be possible to check up, whether all we have made correctly. If this is the case, the proxy server will not re-occur. There is one more step that you must perform before starting the setup. It's about choosing a proxy server. It is necessary to take into account the level of anonymity, geography and the supported protocol of work.

Cleaning

If the proxy server refuses to accept connections, open the "Tools" menu, select the "Settings" item. Go to the "Privacy" section. Click on the "Clear History" link. A new window will open. Select the function "Clear all". Expand the details. We mark the items "Active Sessions", "Cash" and "Cookies". Next, use the "Clear Now" function.

Options

If the system does not have a connection to the proxy server, you need to correctly configure the browser settings. To this end, go to the "Additional" section. Click the button "Configure". It is located in the "Connection" section, on the "Network" tab. Further, the configuration depends on the protocols that are supported in this case. Let us discuss them in more detail.

HTTP, SSL, HTTPS, SOCKS protocols

Sometimes a connection to the proxy server occurs at this stage. If in a particular case all types of protocols are supported or there is no information on available solutions, a number of steps should be taken. Go to the connection settings window. We use the function of manual adjustment. We enter the IP address in the fields, as well as the proxy port. If necessary, we confirm the use of these parameters for each of the protocols by checking the appropriate box. Close the window with the connection settings by clicking on the OK button. If the proxy supports only SSL and HTTP, perform the following steps. Go to the connection settings window. We use the manual setting of the proxy service. We remove the tick from the point that allows this solution to be used for each of the protocols. We enter the IP-address, as well as the port in the appropriate fields. The field named "SOCKS node" must be left blank. Close the window with the connection settings by clicking on the "OK" button. Now consider an action algorithm that will help if the proxy supports only the SOCKS protocol. Again, go to the connection settings window and apply the manual setting. We remove the usual tick. The IP address along with the port is indicated in the field called "SOCKS node". Below choose the supported protocol SOCKS5 or SOCKS4. Empty in this case we leave the following fields: FTP, SSL, HTTP. Close the window with the connection settings using the "OK" button.

Cancellation and additional data

Now you know what to do if there is a connection error to the proxy server, but in some cases it must be disabled, and then we'll look at how it's done. Let's go to the browser. We use the function "Connection settings". We activate the item "Without a proxy". Press the OK button. Note that the proxy server is a service in PC networks that allows customers to make indirect requests to other services. The work is carried out as follows. At the first stage, the client connects to the server. Next, it requests a resource. It is located on a different server. After that, the proxy is connected and receives the necessary resource or returns it from the cache. Sometimes the client's request, as well as the response of the server, can change for certain reasons. Proxy allows you to protect your computer by eliminating network attacks. Also, thanks to this decision, the client remains anonymous. A proxy is required to provide access to the PCs on the local network to the Internet. Also, the approach is effective in organizing massive data copying. Sometimes there are calls to certain external resources. In this case, you can place them on proxy servers. In the future, they are easy to issue on request. Thanks to this approach, the load on the channel is reduced, and the client receives the requested information. A proxy server is effective when compressing data. It downloads data from the Internet, then transmits information to the user. In this case, it comes in a compressed state. This saves both internal and external network traffic. So we figured out what to do if the proxy server refuses to accept connections.
