We select sedatives for the child: how not to harm the baby?

Of course, childhood forever remains in our memory the happiest and light-hearted at times. However, we must not forget that as parents, we are directly responsible for the psychological well-being of the child. Surely you know that, like adults, children are subject to stress, emotional overload, overexcitation. Not all new discoveries in the life of your baby will have a positive coloring. And from the most good and joyful events you can get tired - as a result, by the evening the kid can become irritated and capricious. That is why it is extremely important to choose the right sedatives for the child.

Phytotherapy

The most safe in this regard are various herbal teas and dues. They were used hundreds of years ago, do not contain any dangerous chemical additives.

Choosing sedatives for the child, you can stop on an effective herbal collection. Fennel fruits, chamomile flowers, wheatgrass roots, licorice and althea are mixed in a ratio of 1: 1: 2: 2: 2. Two tablespoons of raw material are enough for 200 milliliters of boiling water. Collection for twenty minutes continue to boil, and then filter and give the baby to drink on a teaspoon before each meal or just before bed.

Such sedatives for the child need not be confused independently. In specialized stores and pharmacies you can buy ready-made products, designed just for the smallest. For example, a good soothing tea with lime blossom, chamomile and melissa is easy to find in the HIPP baby food line.

You can buy phyto-tea "Baby soothing" with the inclusion of lavender, valerian, dog rose, motherwort, mint, licorice root and birch leaves. Psychologists believe that these ingredients improve the mood of the child and normalize his sleep, reduce caprice.

With overexcitation, stress, as well as a bad dream, the herbal collection, including the components of thyme, oregano, valerian, kiprei and the grass of the Kuril tea, can be used as well. A spoon of raw material is poured with boiling water and allowed to stand for about half an hour, after which it is filtered.

Selecting herbal sedatives for a child, pay attention to his reaction: both in adults and in children, sometimes there is an individual intolerance of certain ingredients.

Milk

Probably, many of us in the childhood at night parents gave to drink a glass of warm milk. This is really very useful, not only physically, but also psychologically. When a baby is drinking milk (of course, if he does not have an allergy and he loves it), as in the first days of his life, he instantly calms down. In addition, this drink creates a satiety effect, helps the baby to relax and prepare for bed.

Aromatherapy

In recent years, aromatherapy is very popular. Very good baby shampoos, oils, bathing gels and milk with the scent of lavender. They will help cope with migraine attacks, insomnia, stress and increased excitability. And you can just drip a few drops of ethereal lavender oil in the bathtub, where the child is bathing, or on his pillow. It is useful to buy a special aroma lamp. In this case, the amount of oil is determined depending on the size of the room: 1 drop of 5 square meters. Do not apply oil to the skin of the child, because the risk of getting burns is very high.

Aromatherapy can be practiced from the first months of a baby's life, however, choosing sedatives for infants, it is worth consulting with a pediatrician - many babies at such a sensitive age are predisposed to various kinds of allergies.

Homeopathic remedies

It also happens that the traditional medicine does not bring the desired effect. In this case, you can consult a doctor who will advise a good sedative (homeopathic) for children. Despite the fact that the drugs of this group are considered completely safe, their influence is also individual, and therefore it is better that a pediatrician who has watched your child from the first days of his life advise a suitable remedy. Most often, experts appoint time-tested homeopathic remedies, such as Notta, Valerianahel, Viburkol, Nervoghel, Dormikind, Shalun, Edas, Zayachonok, Bebi Sed, Capricious and some others.
