Want to Build a Star Career: A Simple First Step

Perhaps you are one of those millions of people who work hard from morning to night in large and small companies. And, just like them, you count on career growth, growth of status and salary.

Unfortunately, for many, the expectation turns into running around in a circle by the will of Big and Little Bosses. Years are flying, enthusiasm is melting, health is deteriorating ... And, most terrible, a better life with a decent salary never comes .

If you are currently reading this article, you are most likely to be thinking "What to do next?". The same question arises in everyone who is stuck in a career impasse or is guaranteed to move in his direction.

Our common misfortune is that in the USSR the career was specially divided into two types: horizontal and vertical. And all the propaganda power for many years sent careerists to a dead end - to build a horizontal career!

Remember fairy tales about the "star" career of a marketer, an aychar or financial analyst? And about the district (regional, all-Russian) contest "Best in Profession" or "Teacher of the Year"? And about "family traditions", about "labor dynasties", etc.? And, I believe you heard about awarding honorary titles "Honored lawyer", etc.? All these are examples of the so-called "horizontal" career.

The second option is to build a horizontal career, which staff staff members like to talk about at interviews - mastering new professions. Including, by obtaining a second and even a third higher education.

Moreover, the chiefs, who skilfully speculate on the topic of building a horizontal career, meet more often than you want.

When I started career growth, I twice fell for the "bait" of clever bosses. And twice he built Starry "horizontal" career. I lost a lot of time, strength and health, until I realized that a "horizontal" career is a way to a standstill.

Of course, this is my private opinion and you can disagree with me. And continue to build a "horizontal" career.

Gathering the secrets of career growth, based on personal experience and scientific analysis, I found a solution that helps to build a career in a reasonable, calm and confident way. This decision is the choice of a vertical career. Through it lies the way to a high salary.

On the possibilities of a vertical career for many years, and now, for some reason, modestly silent. The reason for this "modesty" is clear - in the USSR and Russia for 80 years there was no mass training of managers. They were trained only in the Higher Party and Higher Komsomol schools.

But it is the managerial career that is the real vertical career! It is she who gives more chances for self-realization and recognition. It is the top managers who "bathe" in a high salary and receive fabulous bonuses. They have official cars and other social benefits.

And let someone will argue or argue. I declare that the only possible kind of career is a manager's career.

Although, what's wrong with it is to become the best welder, the best detective or the best surgeon? Of course, it's wonderful. Only this is not a career. This is the growth of professional skills!

Therefore, the simple first step in building a career is to decide on a career in the management system!
