VAZ-2110, throttle: self-cleaning

Work at idle

When idling, a small amount of air passes through the valve to maintain the crankshaft speed at 750 revolutions. At that moment the damper is completely closed. As soon as the driver presses the accelerator pedal, the damper opens (the angle of rotation of its axis is fixed by the position sensor and sends a signal to the electronic control unit).

Working in normal mode

Air comes through a slot formed by a damper, the regulator does not work at all. In the fuel stage there is a process of mixture formation - gasoline is in a suspended state (like fog) under high pressure. Its value is constant and regulated by means of a sensor and an overpressure valve. Even after the mixture is formed, the fuel is injected into the combustion chambers - in turn, the nozzles are opened (in fact, they are electromagnetic valves). They are controlled by an electronic unit. Their work completely depends on the readings of the sensors and the fuel card (firmware of the microcontroller control system).

Electronic accelerator pedal

On some modifications of the VAZ-2110, the throttle is driven by an electric motor. The bottom line is simple: the pedal is equipped with a sensor system (most often based on a potentiometer - a variable resistor). When the pedal is depressed, the resistance changes, and the electronic control unit determines the position by the signal level. Then a signal is sent to the throttle actuator and it opens to a certain angle. Instead of rheostats, encoders are installed - sensors that fix the angular movement of the axis. They are more accurate and reliable, but the cost is higher. In general, the reliability of the electronic damper drive is much higher than that of the cable.

Operation of the sensor system

The air flow sensor is of great importance. It allows you to estimate the amount of air that flows through the throttle assembly into the fuel rail. Depending on the throttle position of the VAZ-2110, the volume of air passing through it changes. But the air can not be weighed, touched, touched. Therefore, a more cunning way to estimate its quantity was invented - by heating the platinum thread.

When the ignition is turned on, the filament from platinum is heated in the DMRV (which is why the sensors have a high cost - more than 2000 rubles). The electronic control unit contains the reference temperature of the thread. When the air passes through the sensor tube, the thread cools down a few degrees (due to blowing). The control unit captures the difference and, knowing all the geometric dimensions of the sensor, calculates the approximate amount of air passing per unit of time into the fuel rail.

When do I need to clean the flap?

Symptoms of cleaning the throttle valve VAZ-2110:

1. Unstable operation of the engine at idle.
2. Delay when starting the engine.
3. Extraneous sounds from the silencer.
4. Increase in gasoline consumption.
5. The car jerks when driving at low speed.
6. Turns of a cranked shaft float.

All these symptoms indicate that there are deposits in the body of the node (they can be seen without complete disassembly). Oil dust and gases - the reason for the formation of deposits. Self-cleaning can be done with a special aerosol. According to the technological map, the cleaning of the damper should be carried out every 35 thousand km. Mileage. But it is better to reduce the mileage to 15-20 thousand km. The procedure will take a little time, but the effect from it will be a lot - the engine will work stably, the consumption of gasoline will decrease and the power will increase.

Cleaning procedure

The process of cleaning the throttle valve VAZ-2110 (injector) is as follows:

1. Remove the corrugation from the air filter and throttle.

The air flow sensor often clogs a thread of platinum, dust settles on it and interferes with normal operation. It is allowed to clean the filament and grate with aerosol.
