"Unidox Solutab" - features of application

The drug "Unidox Solutab" refers to the antibiotics of the tetracycline group and has an antiparasitic, antimicrobial effect. The effect of this drug is based on the inhibition of the synthesis of proteins that are contained in a cell of microorganisms. The main active substance in the drug "Unidox Solutab" is doxycycline, which is active against microorganisms that are in the stage of growth, as well as in the stage of division and practically does not affect those microorganisms that are at rest.

This drug, once taken orally, is well absorbed from the digestive tract, and its absorption is almost independent of whether you take food or not. The maximum amount of the drug is reached within two hours after taking, and it quickly penetrates almost all tissues of the body, but almost does not enter the cerebrospinal fluid. From the body, metabolites and unchanged doxycycline are excreted along with feces and urine. After a one-time use, the half-life of the drug "Unidox Solutab" is about 18 hours, with a repeated admission it increases slightly and is already 23 hours.

Especially high doses of the drug are concentrated in the tissues of the prostate gland, as well as some of it enters the breast milk.

The drug "Unidox Solutab" - indications for use

This drug is prescribed in the presence of infectious diseases that are caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to doxycycline, adults and children after the age of eight:

- with infections of the respiratory tract and any ENT organs;

- in the presence of gastrointestinal infections;

- if necessary, treatment of any infectious diseases in the genitourinary system, namely gonorrhea, chlamydial infections, pyelonephritis, urogenital mycoplasmosis, cystitis, primary and secondary syphilis, prostatitis;

- also means "Unidox Solutab" is used for skin infections and infections of soft tissues, it is effective for skin infections, with typhus.

Method of application

The amount of the drug and the duration of treatment can be determined only by the attending physician.

Usually on the first day 200 mg once a day or twice on 100 mg of the drug is prescribed, this applies to adults and children weighing more than 50 kilograms. Further take 100 milligrams of this drug once a day, and for severe diseases, the dose is doubled.

If the child is less than 50 kilograms, then for each kilogram of weight take 4 mg of the drug on the first day, and then reduce the dose twice.

If gonorrhea is treated in women, the dose is 200 mg, and for men up to 300 mg. This treatment regimen lasts no less than 5 days.

You can take these tablets as a whole, or pre-chop, then you have to drink water. After grinding, the tablet can be diluted in syrup and given to children in such a video.

Possible side effects: thrombocytopenia, decreased appetite, stool disorders, eosinophilia, increased intracranial pressure, dermatitis, vaginitis, photosensitivity, stomatitis and some others.

Contraindications for use: the period of pregnancy, the presence of liver or kidney failure, children up to the age of eight.

Overdose: nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache and anorexia may occur. It is necessary to carry out lavage of the stomach, take enterosorbents, and symptomatic treatment is also performed.

Pregnancy after "Unidox Solutab" is undesirable, since its main active ingredient, doxycycline provokes a fetal malformation of the formation of bone tissue. Therefore, if you took this medication and decided to become pregnant, then you should wait for a while, until the body completely withdraws doxycycline.

The use of this drug must necessarily be preceded by a doctor's consultation.
