Types of martial arts

Virtually all types of martial arts are of Eastern origin. Many of them are even similar in general terms. Such combat systems can be divided into ancient and novodels. New combat systems were formed on the basis of the older ones. By improving or combining the principles of two types, you can create something fundamentally unlike other types of combat. Chinese martial arts originate in antiquity. According to legends, as well as a number of historical data, there was even a whole era in the country when about a tenth of the population practiced various martial arts.

Today, many of the types of such practices have turned into a regular sport or a recovery system. For example, it is worthwhile to trace the history of Wushu. Today, Wushu is practiced in order to maintain the body in good shape. And once such a technique was a way of training soldiers. It is believed that the types of martial arts teach in their original format is dangerous. After all, they are the actual systems of combat. Most systems originated in the East. However, this does not mean that the West lagged behind the eastern world.

In a civilized country like France, a martial art was born that can successfully resist Chinese and Japanese systems, and even muay thai. It's about the boxing "savat", in which kicks are allowed. It was created by sailors and street fighters who knew in detail what is necessary for successful self-defense and attack. Types of martial arts are not limited to the countries of the East and West. Some systems were created in countries such as Africa, the Philippines, Brazil.

The system of "capoeira", which appeared in Brazil, became widespread and popular. It implies rather complex, but at the same time effective elements of combat with the participation of kicks. Capoeira also uses weapons. One of the most interesting types of combat is Filipino arnis. It allows you to effectively resist both the unarmed and the armed enemy. Formally arnis refers to a system of combat with a knife. However, the techniques of this art are successfully used in hand-to-hand combat. Types of martial arts using weapons are usually detached from simple self-defense systems. Arnis is an exception to the rules. Although in the old days all the soldiers practiced both a simple fist fight, and receptions with weapons.

Korean martial arts in many respects are like Chinese and Japanese counterparts. In part, they even have similar names.

Muay Thai is a rather interesting martial art, which has a two thousand-year history. Originating in Thailand, Thai boxing has long been a local martial arts system. And only in the 20th century it became popular due to the fact that the fighters of this style few could win at the competitions. Today Thai boxing is practiced everywhere. And for Thai people, this sport is often the only way to get into people.

Muay Thai is similar to such kinds of martial arts as boxing and kickboxing. However, it differs from them. In particular, it is customary to use elbows and knees in the combat system, which is forbidden, for example, in the box. In former times, even throws were used in Muay Thai. In the sports format, they were excluded.

Many types of martial arts are associated with religious beliefs and a certain philosophy. Muay Thai is no exception. However, having penetrated into other countries, the arts lost their mystical component and became just fashionable hobbies. Wushu is often used to support tonus, and in Thai boxing women are recorded to lose weight. It is interesting that in ancient times, the training of women to this system was generally prohibited. It was believed that a woman will bring misfortune to the warrior and cause damage to the ring itself with one of its presence.
