The solemn part was twice postponed because of the tragic events of September 11, which claimed thousands of lives of innocent people. Then it was decided to hold a presentation ceremony and Ellen DeGeneres brilliantly did it.

The actress applauded standing up during her performance - in wit that day she surpassed herself. After the enchanting success of the actress at the Emmy 2001 ceremony, she began to prepare a new program, the sitcom "The Ellen Degeneres Show", which was launched in the autumn of 2003.

The first season brought immediately eleven nominations for "Emmy", four of which were received by the actress. The next two seasons also became successful. Ellen and her sitcom continued their triumphal march until 2006.
