A few characteristics of how the waters come off

As the date of birth approaches, a woman begins to listen to all the sensations and processes that occur inside her. Many are afraid to miss the signs of starting with a grip, but doctors say that this is impossible. Even in the case of rapid delivery, a woman will immediately understand what is happening. A lot of anxiety in future parturient women raises the question of how the waters flow: swift with a stream or a barely perceptible stream, what sensations arise in this, and so on.

Naturally, vigilance will not be superfluous in this situation, therefore we will try to describe this event as it can be.

First of all, we note that the process of water diversion is purely individual, therefore it is impossible for anyone to clearly describe how this will happen to you. To say exactly when and how it will begin is also difficult: some people are losing their water in a few seconds, and many feel "leaking" for several days.

Of course, as soon as they began to move away, it is necessary to urgently go to the maternity hospital. First of all, this is the first sign that the birth is very close. Secondly, if the integrity of the bladder is compromised, the risk of infection into the body is high.

In the question of how the water flows, it is necessary to focus on the color and odor: the discharge should be liquid and transparent with a slightly sweetish flavor. Sometimes they contain whitish flakes - this is a natural lubricant that envelops the fruit. If the color has some other characteristic features, this may indicate some violations (for example, the oxygen starvation of the fetus), therefore this should be reported to the doctor. For example, if they have a greenish tinge or a cloudy consistency, then this is an alarm signal. And it's important to remember when it happened, how much they left, and what kind they had. This information will be important during childbirth.

As a rule, women immediately feel the moment of water withdrawal. But sometimes this happens at night or after a sharp change in body position. First, the future mother is visited by a sensation of moisture in the perineum, but before that, there may be a characteristic sound reminiscent of cotton (but this does not always happen).

In the way the waters leave before giving birth, doctors distinguish two periods:

  1. Departure of the front waters. They are located between the cervix and the baby's head. Their volume does not exceed one liter.
  2. Departure of the rear waters, which occurs directly at the time of birth and promotes a softer passage through the birth canal.

The total volume of such a liquid is about 1.5 liters. Very often, water does not go away at one time: a woman just might think that she did not have time to go to the toilet. However, there is a way that will help distinguish amniotic fluid from urine: if you can not hold this stream or jet with muscle tension, then it's time for you to go to the hospital.

Characterizing the specifics of how the water flows, doctors notice that they can begin to manifest themselves before the fights. In this case, it is best to contact your treating gynecologist. The fact is that experts have several opinions on this matter. Some believe that this situation does not harm the baby, and you can still wait a few days. The rest argue that you can not wait more than 24 hours, and if the birth does not begin within this time, they need to be stimulated.

It is believed that the most ideal variant of how the waters leave is the passage of this process directly during childbirth. Sometimes there is a situation when the water does not go away on its own, because the bubble has to be pierced. This is also considered the norm.

Remember that when the waters start to drain, do not panic. This indicates that very soon you will get acquainted with your baby, so you need to do everything right and calmly.
