Two-leaf doors - non-standard solution

The door, like the windows, is a necessary and indispensable component of our home, protecting personal territory from invasions from outside. So sooner or later we will have to look for it. When is it advisable to buy double doors? The answer is obvious and unambiguous: if the door gap exceeds the standard dimensions (width is more than one meter) and the standardized door does not fit the technical parameters, then for these cases there is a similar option. And if you order a regular door of increased dimensions, then it will look extremely inconsiderate. In addition, using it will be very difficult because of the large weight and bulkiness, which in the end will inevitably lead to deformation of the load-bearing partition.

Well, what are the differences between double doors?

First, they are made (as can be understood from the definition itself) from two parts. And they can be in different ratios:

1. Both valves are equal.

2. The size of one canvas is larger.

In the second case, one part is fully working (it is used daily and constantly), and the other (smaller in size) is fixed from below and from above and opens only as needed.

By its structure, the doors are:

1. Deaf type (one of the canvases does not open at all).

2. With panels (specific inserts).

By the type of opening, two-leaf doors are distinguished:

1. Expanding (or only inside the room, or just outside, or in either direction).

2. Expanding.

The latter effectively save living space, but will require for themselves an additional Place on the side, where the doors will be moved. And if you pick up high-quality components, then these doors can be as noiseless as swing doors. Naturally, they are compacted and have all the necessary components.

Two-leaf interior doors can visually increase the spatial area. High ceilings and a wide doorway are sufficient grounds for installing this option. They are made from a variety of materials: wood and MDF, veneer and metal. As for the design, original mural paintings, signs, drawings, images are applied on the door, perhaps a combination of different stylistic solutions. Glass can also be used for decoration, plastic, forged fragments, which very decorates the room. It is clear that all this directly affects the price category. A complete set of decent accessories will slightly increase the total cost of the door, but you do not need to save here. Hinges, components - the main mechanisms on which the operational life of the door itself depends.

It is known from practice that iron double-leaf doors are installed in the entrances of apartment buildings (welded construction), in cottages (on the principle of access doors), in institutions where increased security is required (for example, banks). In large mansions they are covered with soft covering and give the design an extra elegance, aristocratism. In office buildings, in production premises, their installation is justified functionally, that is, there it is necessary to have an opening of a large width in order to bring in / take out large, massive objects.

In conclusion, I want to note that many designers consider two-leaf doors an element of an elite and fashionable interior. They are associated with magnificent palace ensembles and the ancient architecture of the past, as they have a presentable, refined and elegant appearance, especially underlined by luxurious facing material. In addition, such doors are exceptionally reliable, durable and will regularly serve more than a dozen years.
