Treatment of hemangiomas by modern methods

As practice shows, annually the number of people who have hemangiomas on their bodies, significantly increases. Special fears of specialists are caused by the fact that the number of children born with this benign tumor is growing significantly, and most of them are girls. In each case, the treatment with hemangiomas should be carried out on the basis of an individual approach. Only with this condition can we speak about its effectiveness.

The concept and types of hemangioma

To date, this term is commonly referred to as a benign tumor that can be caused by both congenital malformation and adverse living conditions or traumas. There are several main types of hemangiomas:

  • Mixed. Represent a few tumor cells, which consist of different tissues and blood vessels.
  • Combined. They appear exclusively in clinical conditions and represent a symbiosis of simple and cavernous hemangiomas.
  • Simple. As a rule, they have a smooth surface, but in some cases they can protrude slightly above the skin. Only the upper subcutaneous capillaries are affected.
  • Cavernous. They have a nodular shape and are located exclusively under the skin. Most common in newborns.

However, it is worthwhile to understand that practically every person can have hemangioma. Methods of treatment in each specific situation are different and depend on the type of tumor and the stage of its formation. In any case, when it appears on the body, you should immediately contact a specialist. Only he can appoint the right treatment with hemangiomas, which will get rid of them as quickly and practically painlessly.

Medical methods of removal

The specific way to remove this benign tumor directly depends on its location. In addition, do not forget that not all hemangiomas can and should be removed.

Doctors today mostly offer moxibustion with liquid nitrogen or laser removal. And just recently, surgical intervention or alcohol sclerotherapy was used. However, both these methods are considered obsolete, and they are not suitable for every adult person, let alone a child. That is why laser removal is the most effective and effective option. This procedure is practically painless, does not require general anesthesia and takes little time. In any case, a specific hemangioma treatment can be prescribed only by a specialist after a comprehensive study.

If we talk about the appearance of such a tumor in a newborn, in some cases it is removed even in the hospital. In any case, it all depends on the size and type to which the hemangioma belongs. Treatment cost in each case has a different. All depends on whether the individual tumor will be removed or not, in what way the operation will be performed. On average, the cost of the procedure varies from 700 to 9000 rubles.
