The traditional established order of behavior is ... The rules of behavior in society

When we wake up, we begin to follow a certain principle of behavior. Going out of the house, walking the streets, at work, at school, people vary their style many times. What does this depend on and what does the traditional established order of behavior mean? This is discussed in the article about social norms and rules of good taste.

General principles of behavior

Immediately from the very birth of a person falls into the environment, which nourishes him morally and determines the further style of behavior, shapes the worldview, relying on the views of others and written laws of the norm.

And what is the norm? It is defined as a rule, acting in a particular environment for a limited period of time or unrestrictedly.

Rules are self-evident limitations that regulate relations in society and are aimed at avoiding unpleasant situations.

Following the public foundations, a person feels part of the society, which has a beneficial effect on his attitude and determines further opportunities, so-called prospects.

The traditional established order of behavior is a list of stereotyped responses to external stimuli that move to certain actions in a certain place, depending on the temperament of the person, upbringing and categorical restrictions in behavior.

Since birth, the behavioral style of an individual may vary, but the prescribed norms in society remain always with minor adjustments and improvements.

Rules of Survival in Society

Under society we mean a certain number of people in a particular situation. And what for us means such definition, as rules of public behavior? Each individual person with his style and behavior determines the overall cultural indicator and compliance with the rules of etiquette.

The norms of behavior depend on nationality, life positions, perceptions of oneself, mentality and many other factors.

The rules of etiquette boil down to several general principles:

  • Politeness: You can not encroach on the freedom of the attitude of another person, affecting his interests. Therefore, a polite type of behavior helps to avoid excessive concentration on the negative when it comes to some rule of behavior.
  • Tolerance: to be patient with people who find themselves in your life path and are somewhat different from your ideas is the most important aspect. Thus, we will be polite not only with everyone, but with ourselves. And this aspect determines the traditional behavior. It is a component of the harmony of the majority and of a single individual.
  • Security: to behave in a society is necessary so that it does not harm the people morally and physically.

Stereotype style

The stereotype of behavior is a rule that has been passed down from generation to generation, or a system of rules that determine norms in society.

Often such a definition leads to the stupor of freedom-loving citizens and forces them to resist certain norms. Everything that happens to such individuals can be defined as an internal struggle, and with a strong desire, a person can break down the stereotype that has been worked out, change the public notion. Such events can be called progress.

The traditional established order of behavior is not quite what the majority want to do and whose rules to follow. That's why the Penal Code is so favorable to the behavior. The latter is the same prescribed rules, but in a more coarse wording, and they are solved by units.

How do children behave?

The rules of conduct for children are the most accurate and rich in their diversity. Children's behavior requires special adjustment and honed discipline.

They are formed under the influence of parents, sharpened in the circle of household members and depend on the TV shows, listening to music and talking around people. A child at a small age is unable to distinguish between good and evil, correct behavior from antisocial behavior. Therefore, parents should spend a lot of time to educate their baby and money for good textbooks.

Clearly define what can be done, and what not at all, for the child is also a difficult task, therefore, it is necessary to show by personal examples what leads to this or that behavior.

Rules for children at school

The traditional established order of behavior is particularly strict in educational institutions. This is due to the direct education of children in such institutions, the determination of the fate of everyone who passes through the doors of the school.

Most of the time the child spends 6-7 years in the walls of the school. There, for the first time, he feels all the situational tasks that he will face in adulthood, which tempers and determines the further style of behavior.

Therefore, in schools there are strict rules of behavior in the classroom, starting with the school uniform, ending with the fact that it is essential for every teacher to wish good morning and say "goodbye". This also applies to communicating with their classmates and strangers.

Observing all the rules of behavior in the classroom, the child forms himself as a part of the society, understands what is good, and what not to do, how to act in this or that situation.

Asocial type

What is the deviation from the norm and how the disorders of the psyche can affect the behavior of a person? How can the style of one individual provoke inadequate antics of many people?

Those who do not comply with the general principles of the definition of an educated person, and those who are not at all capable of conforming to the rules of behavior, are usually called antisocial types. This behavior is due to improper upbringing or mental abnormalities. By their behavior, the above-mentioned individuals can be confusing and provoke the imitation of similar, but not yet antisocial people.

What depends on the temperament?

Who is more inclined to follow the traditional rules of conduct? These people are balanced, calm, highly developed and aware of their human essence. This description corresponds to the sanguine type of temperament.

The complete opposite of it - melancholic - is also able to behave and observe the order of behavior, and even more than the remaining types - choleric and phlegmatic.

Deviations from the norm

Deviation from stereotyped behavior indicates the pathology of development at an early age or acts as a symbol of protest to society.

Rules of conduct are created to make people's understanding more profound and devoid of problems.

In the psychology of people who are unable to observe the rules and are responsible for themselves, they are called sociopaths. An easier manifestation of this pathology is social phobia, which is also characteristic of people who have received wrong education, for a long time separated from the society of cultural people, or with perception distorted by drugs and alcohol.

Forms of behavior

Depending on the pursued goal, a person's behavior in society is divided into types:

  • A natural type of behavior: it is used by a person when personal goals are to be achieved. This way of acting is in response, which is provided by nature - it is natural and not faked.
  • Ritual behavior: this is just the case when the style of response is aimed at observing the general rules of society. This applies to etiquette, and other established norms. This type helps to follow the rules of behavior and harmoniously complement the society.
  • Cooperative behavior: certain norms that must be respected in a particular environment. It can be a work collective, meetings and other events. In this case, compound norms include a certain form of clothing, a manner of speaking and the ability to behave.
  • Parental behavior: is to correctly position yourself as parents in relation to the child. Correctly formed outlook and norms of parents influence the child's becoming and fitness for life in a full-fledged society.

The need for social norms

It is difficult to imagine what would have happened if all the established moral and social principles of cultural behavior and the presentation of oneself as a person in society had disappeared. Social norms based on hundreds of centuries of experience prove their importance every minute, when any violation makes us aware of not very good consequences.

With the benefits of standard models of social behavior in society in general, everything is clear. This question has been considered and proved repeatedly. One should think about the negative consequences of the absence of these norms, the established natural and corporate principles of responding to the situation.

One can say for sure that if there were no common moral and social principles, then it would not be necessary to speak about the "reasonable person" either. Humanity is therefore at the top of development, which is able to distinguish the negative influence of its actions from positive ones.

The causal relationship directly drives people to do what society wants. For the misunderstood will be abandoned, and the outcast will never be able to become part of a socially developed group.

Despite the many contradictions, it can be said that the norms of behavior regulate every sphere of human activity, from small to large, and inconsistency ends for someone with a minor incident, and for someone - years of imprisonment in a prison or psychiatric clinic.

A reasonable person respects the rules, seeks to supplement the list of permitted and forbidden acts among people. The task of modern man is a direct influence on established social norms, their improvement and supplementation with new, more specific requirements for life in society.

Any established norm and rule should not contradict human nature and restrict its freedom, therefore public rules, which have been preserved since ancient times, are most naturally suitable for their observance.

Ability to keep oneself up to the mark and yet not contradict its essence - the art that makes a person a higher being.
