The Red Book of the Republic of Belarus. Plants that are on the verge of extinction

Belarus is famous for the fact that it has the oldest forest in Europe. Imagine huge trees, impenetrable thickets, thickets and enchanting darkness. This was several hundred years ago almost the whole of central Europe. But now the cradle of flora and fauna is preserved only a small patch in the south of the Republic of Belarus. It is not surprising that in the country you can meet many unique plants that are on the verge of extinction. The Red Book of the Republic of Belarus narrates about rare species. Plants, entered in it, can be found only in single copies in some regions.

general information

The question of how to preserve rare species of flora and fauna appeared long ago. This involved scientists in the USSR. The modern edition of the main environmental book is the third addition, which includes many new species. The list of plants of the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus includes 137 names of vascular plants, 27 bryophytes, 21 species of algae, 24 lichens and 29 fungi.

These classes are the most difficult to guard. They are very strongly influenced by the environment, and therefore, in a few years they may not be in the country. The description of plants listed in the Red Data Book of Belarus begins with the definition of the category of disappearance. Four means a very rare species, found in a single specimen. Unit - the species is fairly common, but very vulnerable and can disappear in a moment.

Principles for the compilation of a list of protected crops

  1. The plant must exist at the boundary of its habitual habitat or in a place remote from it.
  2. Rare growth in one or two places.
  3. Value of the species as a resource.
  4. Bright flowers, which because of their beauty are massively destroyed.

When the third edition was being prepared, the scientists were horrified. Before that, there was a very thick Red Book of Belarus. Kinds were replaced one after another, and now many of them, written down in the second edition, ceased to exist at all. This is primarily the fault of human activities. So, during the construction of the highway in the hills of the Kryzhovka, a small area of sleep-grass was destroyed. When the Minsk Sea flooded, the bathing-house ceased to exist, and because of the severe air pollution in the forests, Arnica began to disappear. The red book of the Republic of Belarus these plants can not save from accidental extermination, but can stop from deliberate.

Consider what species are on the verge of extinction and are of greatest interest to humans.

Forestwort

These are beautiful white small flowers growing on the hills and edges of the forest. There are five petals and a yellow center. It grows in bush, it looks very beautiful. It propagates vegetatively and semenically. The greatest problem is that seeds germinate for a long time. Before they appear a flower, it should take 5-7 years.

In folk medicine is used primarily to treat dental and headaches.

The meadow (Lugava's Dream)

Perhaps in the marshland you met a small purple bell, fluffy and completely covered with small hairs. This is the meadow chamber. It blooms in late April-early May. The Red Book of Belarus counts meadows in two editions. Now the population is sharply decreasing because of the massive draining of the marshes.

The ostrovodochnik hairy

It is a small herbaceous plant, growing shrubby. Flowers small yellow, collected by a knob on one stem. It grows mainly in the meadows. Very much appreciated in folk medicine. The main secret - alkaloids, contained in large quantities in the roots. Infusion of this herb is used to relieve stress and treat infertility.

Astra steppe

This plant is still known as Moroz. Beautiful bluish-violet small flowers with a yellow center. Grow bush, one branch can have many inflorescences. Aster steppe is a potentially endangered species, which is also included in the Red Data Book of Poland. The people are famous for blooming before the first frost. The Red Book of the Republic of Belarus contains many plants, and it is not for nothing that this species is mentioned, because of the change in the chemical composition of the soil of the habitual habitat, the aster perishes.

Lilia curly

A beautiful unusual flower, in the common people called Tsar's curls. On the beautiful straight stalk, reaching at times one meter, the crown of the flower flaunts. Color can vary from light pink to dark pink with bright bard patches in the middle. Propagates by an onion that has a golden color. The plant has very valuable aesthetic properties, so it has learned to cultivate on personal plots. In nature it is very rare, mainly in broadleaf and coniferous forests, occasionally in pine forests.

Conclusion

The Red Book of the Republic of Belarus (the plants included in it, we briefly reviewed) was created so that we remember, knew about the value of nature and did our best not to harm it.
