The recipe for martini with vodka: luxurious variations and simple sophistication

Many people want to relax after a hard day at work, for example, from time to time prefer to drink one or two cocktails in a circle of relatives or friends.

Of course, today cocktails are huge, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. One and the same classic combination of flavors can be combined with very unusual ingredients, yielding exquisite and very pleasant tastes.

Consider a basic combination, like martini with vodka. The recipe for this drink is known to many fans of strong alcoholic cocktails. This combination in the classical form is called vodkatini. All the recipes considered below are based on these two ingredients.

A short excursion into the history

Such a drink first appeared in the bars of America in the middle of the 20th century. Who is the author of such a very explosive combination, today is not known.

But the fact is that the popularity of the cocktail has greatly increased thanks to the James Bond films. It was thanks to the famous hero of films that the recipe for martini with vodka became mega-known and popular.

In the same film, a little secret was revealed, an unspoken rule: "in the right cocktail, the ingredients mix, but do not shake."

"50/50 Martini", or "Perfect Martini"

Let's start, perhaps, with such a combination as an "ideal" cocktail: vodka with martini. Recipe got its name due to a uniform proportion of the basic ingredients.

The composition of one cocktail: 42 grams of vodka, 42 grams of vermouth, 10 drops of orange bitter, a spiral of lemon peel for decoration. This is the simplest, "clean" recipe for martini with vodka. The proportions are translated from the international system of measures, which is adopted in bars, so everything is indicated to within a gram.

Preparation: in a glass for mixing we connect vodka, martini, bitter and ice. We mix the cocktail well and pour into the cooled martini glass. We decorate with zest - the cocktail is ready.

Basilic martini

Preparation of this drink assumes a preparatory stage, therefore it is necessary to start to prepare it for a day before the use.

For this cocktail you will need: 0.5 cups of vodka, 3 fresh basil leaves, 28 grams of vermouth, 10 drops of celery bitter (optional), a basil leaf for decoration.

Cooking method. To begin with, we connect a half-glass of vodka with basil leaves in a small vessel, cover it with food film. Place the mixture in the fridge for the night, then pull out the basil leaves. This mixture will be enough for two cocktails.

Then add all the components specified in the recipe, including bitter and ice, into the mixing glass. Stir well and pour into a chilled glass, decorate with basil.

St. Dill Martini

This recipe for martini with vodka is quite unusual and spicy.

Ingredients: 42 grams of vodka, 28-56 grams of cucumber pickle (marinade) with dill, a few drops of vermouth, 10-12 mustard seeds, a small pickled cucumber on a skewer and a sprig of dill for decoration.

Preparation. Mix vodka, brine, vermouth, mustard grains and ice in the shaker. Pour the resulting mixture into the glass. Put the cucumber on a wooden skewer and decorate the cocktail. The finishing touch is a sprig of dill in a glass.

Ginger Martini

This recipe for martini with vodka will appeal to lovers of piquant sweets.

Ingredients: 42 grams of vodka, 14 grams of vermouth, 14 grams of ginger liqueur, 10 drops of bitter "Angostura" (recommended), a spiral of orange peel for decoration.

Preparation. Mix all the ingredients, except for the decoration, in the shaker, adding ice. Pour the resulting mixture into a glass and decorate with zest.

Martini with sherry

This dry cocktail has a piquant taste due to sherry (strong grape wine). He ideally "works" paired with a ham or other salty snacks.

Ingredients: 42 grams of vodka, 28 grams of dry vermouth, 14 grams of sherry (recommended by "Amontillado"), 15 drops of peach liquor, 3 green olives for decoration, 1 slice of hamon, several large crystals of salt.

This is another extravagant variation of martini with vodka. The recipe consists of two steps:

1) In the shaker mix vodka, vermouth, sherry, bitter and ice. Pour into the glass.

2) For decoration we make a "shish kebab" on a skewer of olives and chamom according to the scheme "olive-hamon-olivka", fix it. We put the skewer in the glass, adding the crystals of salt.

Hibiscus Rose Vesper

Ideal for this cocktail is vodka Plantation, but you can use other brands. The recipe was coined in 2011, when there was a surge in popularity of distilled vodka.

Ingredients: 84 grams of dry gin, 28 grams of vodka, 14 grams of vermouth (preferably Lillet Blanc liquor), 15 drops of hibiscus (Chinese rose) liqueur.

To prepare, mix all the ingredients in the shaker by adding ice. Mix in a shaker until completely cooled, then pour into a martini glass.

Cucumber Martini

This cocktail has a pleasant fresh sweetish taste.

Ingredients: 4 rings of cucumber, 56 grams of vodka, 21 grams of vermouth, 0.5 tablespoons of simple sugar syrup, 10 drops of celery bitter.

Preparation. In the shaker we mix 3 rings of cucumber, add vodka, vermouth, syrup, bitter and ice. Stir well and pour the drink into the glass. We decorate the remaining ring of cucumber.
