The recipe for home-grown tarthun. Simple and affordable

Tarhun is a cool, highly carbonated drink that is prepared on the basis of a tarragon plant. If you judge by GOST, then its composition still includes sweeteners, carbon dioxide, water and citric acid. Of these ingredients, at least, it was made in the past Soviet times, and this green drink with a tart aroma and pleasant taste was remembered by many. But in our time, it's unlikely that manufacturers adhere to old standards. In order not to risk your health, you can completely prepare the house tarhun, the recipe of which is quite simple.

The main component of this drink is the plant tarragon, which in our region grows everywhere. In summer it can be found fresh or bought on the market. The recipe for tarhuna does not require a lot of ingredients, it will be enough tarragon, sugar, lemon and water. To begin with, the bunch of tarhuna must be washed and rid of its lower branches. The remaining leaves are cut into 3-4 cm slices, placed in a clay jug and poured with boiling water. Add sugar, it should not be regretted: for every liter of water 6-7 spoons of granulated sugar are taken. A few hours later, a drink with a characteristic green color will be ready. To it you can add a little lemon juice. Drinks are consumed in a refrigerated state.

But this is not the only recipe for tarhuna, suitable for cooking at home. For example, if you take 100 grams of tarragon, 2-3 limes, 4 tablespoons of sugar and 700 ml of water, you can get a delicious soft drink. The grass is crushed in a blender, which is added to sliced small pieces of lime and half of sugar. The resulting mixture is transferred to a saucepan and poured with boiling water. The infusion is covered with a lid and put in a cool place for the night. In the morning, you can add the remaining sugar to the drink, mix and strain. This is the result of a concentrated tarragon. Lemonade recipe advises to be stored in the refrigerator and diluted with mineral water to taste before consumption.

If you take a bunch of tarragon, 7 tablespoons of sugar, 300 ml of water, 5 tablespoons of lemon juice and soda, you can also get a similar concentrate. This recipe of tarhuna begins with the preparation of syrup from the available sugar and water. Then the greens of tarragon should be put in a carafe and pour a third of the volume with hot syrup. If necessary, tarhun can be tamped with a spoon, so that the liquid covers it completely. The mixture should be infused for at least a few hours. When the syrup cools, a carafe with it can be put in the refrigerator. After insisting it must be filtered, add to it lemon juice and mix. Drink lemonade should be cold, diluted with carbonated water.

The next recipe of tarhun requires 30 grams of fresh tarragon, one lime and lemon, 100 grams of sugar and 4 pieces of fresh or frozen strawberries. First, boiling 1.5 liters of water, turning off the fire, and boiling water is added tarragon. Then cover the container and leave for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, lime and lemon are cut into slices, from which the bones are removed, the tails are cut off from the strawberry. All the fruits are folded into a bowl and kneaded by a cricket. The resulting mass is added to the tarragon infusion, mixed and covered with a lid. After cooling it can be cleaned in the refrigerator for the night, and in the morning it will only be necessary to strain the ready tarhun.
