The Pakhra River is the largest tributary of the Moscow River. It flows from the south side of the capital. The Pakhra River originates from the Medvedka tract in the middle of a small swamp, seven kilometers from the Ozigovo railway crossing. At the very source it represents in places in summer a drying little tiny brook that breaks through thick birch woods to the northeast. Replenished on this site by several unnamed tributaries, turning into a full-flowing river, gradually changing the direction of its current, turns to the east.

From them, too, there are pits in the riverbed. The only surviving of the old dams is located near the village of Uslon.

Even an inexperienced fisherman may be lucky enough to become the owner of a rich booty. Also the Pakhra river is famous for perch, bream, roach, pike, chub, yazem and asp. It is here - in one of the few places on the territory of the Moscow region - you can catch large, weighing up to a kilo, carp.
