The garden wheelbarrow is the best friend of a hardworking and efficient gardener

Even the strongest and hardworking hands can not take much with them. Therefore, working in the garden area come to the aid of various devices for carrying and transporting goods. The most famous in the inventory is the garden wheelbarrow.
It helps the gardener to transport small, small garden equipment, soil, humus, liquid fertilizers and other similar goods to small distances (minimum within the garden plot). Rarely, when more than 100 kilograms or liters are transported in its body at a time. Therefore, its design is easier than that of a building wheelbarrow, and less fortified.

It may seem that, for example, a wheelbarrow is a single-wheeled car and will take more, and will carry on. However, the horticulturist does not have a constant need to transport heavy loads comparable in volume and weight to construction materials. In addition, despite the increased maneuverability of a single-wheelbarrow, its weight plus the weight of the load creates a greater load on the wheel. This leads to the fact that it is buried in a soft ground and greatly hinders the movement.
The two-wheeled wheelbarrow is not much heavier than a one -wheeled car , it turns worse in a confined space. But the load on the wheels is evenly distributed, and the center of gravity does not "walk" to the left or to the right when driving. This wheelbarrow is very stable when moving and on the asphalt, and along the garden path, and on the boundary of the garden plot.

The best design is with widely spaced handles so that a man can freely fit between them. The vectors of forces at the same time are such that at a maximum load capacity and maintaining maneuverability, the load on the worker's back is significantly reduced.

Despite the wide variety of designs and models, the fastidious gardener finds it very difficult to find a suitable option. On the other hand, owners of garden plots often have to repair and assemble various adaptations themselves. And in the farm there may be still usable parts. Practice shows that the garden wheelbarrow with their own hands can be collected literally from improvised materials. And in a relatively short time.
Structurally any garden wheelbarrow consists of a body, a running gear and a handle with a support. As a rule, the least problem arises with the assembly of the body - it can go to a suitable residue of building materials, glued, knocked or welded. A slightly more complicated design, if you need a removable bead, so you can transport a long toolbox. An excellent body for bulk and liquid fertilizers is obtained from a slit along an iron barrel.

On the chassis, one- or two-wheeled, usually come wheels from a bicycle or a motorcycle. They are attached to the lower part of the body on ball bearings with the expectation that between the front side of the body and the axle of the running gear there is a distance of about a third of the length of the entire wheelbarrow.

The handle and support are made of half-inch steel pipes and are attached to the sides of the body. In this case, the support is selected in height so that the garden wheelbarrow on it assumes a horizontal position.

Note that even if some missing parts have to be bought, it will still cost you less than buying a ready-made garden wheelbarrow.
