However, due to a number of circumstances, applying for a foreign passport at the place of residence is sometimes not possible. As a rule, students of higher educational institutions who came to study from afar, and working non-resident citizens often face this situation. Registration of the passport at the place of stay is much longer - up to 4 months, which is reflected in the provisions of the Federal Law No. 118-FZ, which regulates the issues of the procedure for leaving and entering the Russian Federation.
Thus, you should not leave a passport for later. Due to the fact that there is no exact guarantee that the document will be issued on a standard date within a month, priority should be given to the preparation of the required document in preparation for the departure abroad.
