The famous Dodge Charger 1969

In 1968, Dodge planned a restyling for all of the Chardzher models and decided that it was time to further separate the Dodge Charger and Dodge Coronet models. Style of a new car a little later will be given the name "Coca-Cola Style".

Dodge Charger 1969 retained the original radiator grille with concealed headlights. Rotating headlights were replaced with more simple ones with a vacuum drive. The interior of the car has not undergone any changes: a vinyl rug appeared in the trunk, and the tachometer disappeared from the list of equipment and became an additional option.

To enhance the image of the Dodge Charger 1969 was added a package of R / T-options. It was put only on cars with 440 Magnum engines and 426 Chemi. With a heavily loaded rear axle and wide tires, the Dodge Charge was able to lift for a while to the rear wheels with a quick start.

The Dodge Charger radiator grille of 1969 had a separation in the center. Also there were new stylish rear lights from the famous designer Harvey Wynne. The SE finishing line was added, which could be ordered either together with the R / T package, or separately. In the SE-complete set of inserts made of high-quality leather and wood, as well as chrome moldings. As an additional option, you could order a hatch. It was installed in about 260 cars sold. In 1969, the Dodge Charger produced about 89,200 units.

In the same year, two of the rarest modifications appeared: Charge 500 and Dodge Charger Daytona.

In 1970, this model underwent another change. A large chrome bumper and a solid grille were introduced . The rear lights were the same, but the versions of the Chardger 500 and the R / T Chargeer got more attractive lanterns. The seatbacks are higher, and the door panels have changed slightly.

A new version of the motor was made - the 440 SixPack with 3 two-chamber carburetors and a power of three hundred and ninety horsepower. This powerplant was one of the rarest. But, despite such a significant update, sales of the Dodge Charger 1969, the characteristics of which have been improved, have declined. This was primarily due to the release of the new model Dodge Challenger and unreasonably high insurance premiums. In 1970, the Dodge Charger brought more wins in races than any other car, including a special Plymouth Superbird and a Charger Daytona.

The Dodge Charge 500 was designed to bypass Ford's cars on high-speed tracks. Engineers in every way tried to improve the aerodynamic properties of the car. The Dodge Charger 1965 prototype was based on the Dodge Chargeer R / T with the Hemi motor.

In all, 500 Dodge Chardzier 500 cars were produced. And only 392 cars were bought for operation on ordinary roads. The rest was purchased by the drivers.

Dodge Charger 1969 Daytona was presented on the thirteenth of April 1969. Literally a couple of hours after the show, Dodge received more than a thousand orders.

Chrysler made many attempts to improve the aerodynamics of the Dodge Charge 500, adding different noses (up to twenty-three inches). Serial car Dodge Charger 1969 Daytona received an eighteen-inch nose fairing. The test of this model was successful, and soon the project was launched. Subsequently, the Dodge Charger 1969 Daytona received a high wing, which provided the necessary downforce and additional stability. A total of 503 copies of this model were produced.
