Than famous Taman: sights, nature, climate

In the western part of the Krasnodar Territory is the famous Taman Peninsula, where more than a hundred different health facilities operate, well known not only in our country, but also far beyond its borders.

Taman, whose attractions annually attract a lot of tourists, is a truly unique area with a rich history and amazing nature. Here you can easily swim in two seas for one day, as the Taman peninsula is washed by the waters of two seas - the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. The coastline here is distinguished by its ruggedness, the presence of many bays, estuaries, and slopes. The delta of the Kuban River influenced the formation of the modern appearance of the peninsula . The Taman coast is mostly steep, consisting of shell rock and limestone rocks.

The Black Sea beaches of Taman are stony, pebbly and sandy beaches with unusually clean water, where in the morning you can easily meet dolphins going on a hunt. And shallow shell beaches of the Azov Sea are the best for holidaymakers with children.

And still the main thing is what Taman is famous for. Sights, natural and historical, here literally at every step. Each grain of sand contains the echoes of history and if the stones could speak, they would tell us a lot of interesting things.

So, what is the Tamani map with sights? What is it worth to visit a person who decided to spend his vacation on this amazing peninsula?

Who among us has not heard the word "Tmutarakan"? So that's it here. People began to settle in these places in the VI century BC. Hermonassa, Samkertz, Tamatarha, Matarha, Matrika, Matrega, Taman, Tmutarakan - it was the name of this city at different times and from different peoples. On its territory there are still various artifacts. In the museum, located in the village of Taman, you can see the collection of exhibits telling about this amazing city.

The Turkish fountain (also called Turkish wells) is an amazing hydrotechnical structure that has existed since the 15th century to the present. Similar to a small house rather than a fountain, it is unique in that it was built in an area where at all times there were difficulties with fresh water, and therefore is a condensation source, the device of which is still a mystery.

Also in Taman is the house-museum of M.Yu. Lermontov. Of course, the house itself, in which he stayed, was not preserved, but the museum, reconstructed from the notes of his contemporaries, accurately reflects the spirit of those times. Whitewashed walls, small rooms, everyday objects - all as in the time of the great poet.

Taman is famous for the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. According to the legend, the bells of this church were cast from the tools of Zaporozhye Cossacks, who were the first Russian subjects who came to settle Taman. Here the regimental banner of the Cossacks and timpani were kept, with the help of which the Cossacks were convened for the rado. The renovated interior of the church is exactly the same as the original one.

The nature of this region is also amazing. On the peninsula there are salt lakes, the bottom of which is covered with medicinal mud containing hydrogen sulphide, bromine and iodine. But these are not the only mud sources that Taman is famous for. Attractions of interest for fans to improve their health are, of course, the famous mud volcanoes. Directly from the depths of the earth, dirt with bubbles of oil gases has a beneficial effect on the skin, contributes to its rejuvenation.

In the Akhtanizovsky estuary is located the famous valley of lotuses. These huge and extraordinarily beautiful flowers in bloom can reach half a meter in diameter. As for this attraction, Taman, whose photo can not leave anyone indifferent, in reality everything is much more beautiful and romantic. According to the existing belief, who has inhaled the unique and mysterious aroma of this flower, it is necessary to become wise. And if a whispered wish is whispered to an unbroken bud, they will surely come true. It is best to visit the lotus valley in July-August (or early September), when the flowering season begins.

It is impossible not to mention the fact that during the Great Patriotic War the most fierce bloody battles took place on Taman. Literally every square meter here is flooded with the blood of Soviet soldiers who died for the liberation of their native land, as evidenced by numerous military monuments and obelisks.

Of course, you can tell endlessly what Taman is famous for. Sights here at almost every step, but because of this article listed only the most basic.
