Tablets 'Remantadine'

Remantadine is a modern medicine that finds its application both in adults and in children with various viral diseases, for example, influenza caused by virus A (and also this drug is extremely effective in cases of infection with influenza virus type A 2).

Antiviral tablets "Remantadin" are prescribed exclusively at the beginning of the disease, and as a result of using them according to the strictly individual scheme prescribed by your doctor, the severity of the course of the disease is significantly reduced. This modern antiviral agent quite successfully suppresses the further multiplication of the virus after its penetration into the cells of the human body, that is, at a rather early stage of a disease.

In the second and third stages of the disease, Remantadine tablets are ineffective. After all, the virus has already multiply multiplied in the cells of the body. It should be noted that with influenza caused by type B virus, Remantadin (an antibiotic in such cases, as a rule, is ineffective) can also seriously improve the patient's condition due to a general decrease in intoxication.

It is extremely justifiable to prevent the use of this medication in cases of flu epidemics, for example, by members of one or another collective, or in the family. In addition, expressed sensitivity to the drug "Remantadin" manifests a tick-borne encephalitis virus . It is worth noting that, with other acute and also chronic infections caused by various viruses, Remantadine is absolutely ineffective, and its use does not bring obvious benefits.

Be sure to note that the dosing regimen of this antiviral drug is exceptionally individual. Dosage is prescribed by your doctor in accordance with the individual characteristics of the body. In this case, the dose depends entirely on the type of disease, its severity, the age of the patient, and the optimal treatment regimen.

This antiviral preparation has side effects. Be sure to note that on the part of the gastrointestinal tract such manifestations as nausea and, in some cases, a change in appetite, sometimes vomiting, are possible. There may be pains of an uncertain nature in the abdominal region (mainly at the top of it), in rare cases, flatulence is observed. In the case of "Remantadine", in rare cases, temporary changes in liver function are also noted. From the side of the central nervous system, headache, minor dizziness, frequent changes of mood, weakness, severe lethargy, unreasonable excitement, drowsiness or, on the contrary, insomnia, tremors of limbs or the whole body. There is (rarely) a decrease in concentration of attention. Side effects of the drug include an allergic rash (including hives), as well as skin itching.

During the reception of the antiviral drug Remantadin, sometimes there may be an exacerbation of some concomitant diseases, especially in people who are already in old age. Note that in patients with hypertension of varying severity, the risk of stroke is significantly increased. In patients with epilepsy, the risk of epileptic seizures increases.

Speaking about the drug, it should be noted and contraindications to its use. Tablets "Remantadin" categorically are contraindicated to persons suffering from acute liver diseases. Also, this drug has a negative effect on patients with diseases of the genito-urinary organs and thyrotoxicosis. Note that the "Remantadine" tablets are inadmissible for use during breastfeeding and, of course, pregnancy, as well as with increased sensitivity to adamantane derivatives.

With great caution appoint people with gastrointestinal diseases. In this case, a slight reduction in the dosage of the drug is recommended.
