Sweet peas are considered one of the most original ornamental plants. Care for him is complicated enough, but because not everyone knows what kind of flower it is. Do not confuse it, for example, with a product such as sweet pepper peas. And although the latter represents the seeds of the same "climbing" plant, like the sweet pea, it is not the same species. An ornamental plant is grown to decorate and decorate arbors, verandas and mesh fences.

Depending on the variety, the height of the pea stalk may range from 50 to 200 cm. In our country, taller varieties are more often used. Sweet peas, growing out of seeds which is quite affordable, prefers sunny, sheltered from strong winds. In this case, the presence of a shadow is practically not allowed.

More preferable is the seedling method of breeding this plant. The fact is that he has a fairly long vegetative period. Sweet peas, grown from the seeds of which in the open ground can be started from the end of May, in this case will blossom only in August. He is not afraid of frosts and can easily tolerate a cooling to -5 degrees Celsius.

With the seedling method, it is possible to start acting from the first of April. And in the first and second cases, seeds (2 pieces each) are brought into the hole about two centimeters deep. These plants do not like clinging in the same way as acidic soil. In this case, they will grow very slowly. Poorly tolerates peas and transplant. After moving to the open ground, he is ill for a long time and stops growing for two weeks. However, in any case, at the beginning or in the middle of July, you can get a blooming sweet pea. Cultivation from the seeds planted directly in the open ground, as already mentioned above, allows you to get flowers only in late summer.

In any case, this plant requires high-quality air and water-permeable soil. Otherwise, bushes can even die. Adult flowers are planted in such a way that on 1 m 2 there were no more than four plants. Sweet peas are recommended for many years in one place not more than four years in a row. This is due to the fact that the soil accumulates spores of a pathogenic fungus, a very dangerous for the health of flowers. For the same reason, the plant is not fertilized with fresh organic fertilizers.

Feeding It before the flowering of urea or chicken manure. In the autumn, preparing the beds, humus is introduced into the soil. Sweet peas, grown from seeds and seedlings which is a rather difficult task, are watered not under the bush, but at a distance of twenty centimeters, so as not to compact the soil. Loosening is necessary after each watering.

The supports for this weaving plant are placed fourteen days after the first shoots appear. As the growth grows, the stems are directed in such a way that a beautiful, continuous fragrant "wall" is obtained. Each variety of peas smells differently, but they all look remarkably spectacular. Often its flowers are compared to colorful butterflies. They look very interesting. For bouquets take stems with a length of 25 cm.
