SsangYong Actyon: reviews are mostly positive, and modesty does not always adorn

The Korean company SsangYong Motor Company was founded in 1954. At first, her specialization was the production of army trucks and jeeps. In the 70s of the last century, the company's executives decided to use the acquired experience for the production of off-road passenger cars or, as they are called today, SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle). The presence of the word "sport" in the name of this class of cars, apparently, implies that driving along country roads is already a sport. Judging by the "highways" of our country, it is easy to agree with this, adding that riding on our usual roads is also to some extent a sport.

Until 2006, the company SsangYong produced very good off-road cars on the chassis of the frame structure, but little was said about this. For the production of motors and gearboxes, a well-known and solid partner was chosen - the German concern Mercedes-Benz AG. With this level of design and technological solutions, SsangYong cars were very affordable, but ... sales remained low. The management of the company, apparently, decided that modest improvement in our boastful world is not the best strategy. It was necessary to do something defiant and striking. The target audience for this goal was active youth, and the car for such people was named Actyon (from the combination of the English words "active" and "young").

The concept of design was realized by the Englishman Ken Greenley, who participated in the creation of several models of Bentley and Aston Martin. The car turned out to be very ambiguous: the number of its detractors (especially considering the age categories), perhaps, exceeded the number of supporters. But the main task was fulfilled: Actyon did not leave anyone indifferent. And about the company SsangYong talked everywhere. From this point of view it becomes quite understandable the further release of the pickup Actyon Sports on the basis of the Actyon model. Those who consider the existence of big money as an optional condition for acquiring an original car that distinguishes its owner among others, buy such cars.

The drivers who operate SsangYong cars on the expanses of Russia and other CIS countries have accumulated enough experience to reasonably speak about the models of SsangYong Actyon and SsangYong Actyon Sports. Reviews and wishes of these people are available in abundance! Naturally, the owners of cars distinguish both advantages and disadvantages.
