Sour milk: a recipe for cooking, sweets in sour milk

Years have passed, and in the village I visit very rarely, but sometimes I want so much to try my grandmother's cheese again and make a salad with sour milk! Therefore, you have to improvise a bit to make sour milk at home. Want to know how to make sour milk   At home? In fact, it's simpler: in enameled dishes we bring milk (three liters) to the boiling point (but do not boil!) And put it to cool. When the temperature of the milk reaches 40 (38) degrees, place the contents of a 250-gram jar of sour cream bought in the store into a saucepan, but do not mix it. After 24 hours, stir the contents of the pan, the sour milk is ready.

If you are going to prepare the next serving, you can use the same recipe, replacing sour cream with sour milk (250 grams).

I saw on the Internet an article that told how to make sour milk at home. The recipe is almost identical to mine, but after the milk boils, three tablespoons of sour milk are added to it, and then the pan goes to the preheated oven. So, apparently, sour milk is getting ready faster, but personally I prefer my own, proven method. Another way to prepare sour milk at home is to add fresh bread to the fresh milk (vinegar, citric acid) and preheat.

Most people appreciate sour milk as the basis for natural yogurt, and not for nothing. It develops a Bulgarian wand, which makes yogurt natural. It's not a secret that yoghurts that are on the shelves of shops, it is difficult to call natural products that do not contain preservatives and chemical constituents.

Homemade scones

Ingredients: a glass of yoghourt, two glasses of flour, a baking powder - about 2 teaspoons, 120 grams of cold butter.

Preparation. In a deep bowl, pour in flour, pre-mixed with baking powder. Add the butter to the flour and chop it in a bowl with flour. Then in the flour make a groove in which to pour the sour milk. Knead the dough and spread it on the flour-strewn surface of the table. With a sharp knife or special shape, make circles (future buns) and transfer them to a baking sheet. Pour the baking tray into a heated oven to 230 degrees, bake buns for about 20 minutes.

You can serve such buns with jam or melted chocolate.

Fruit pie made with sour milk

Ingredients: a glass of sugar, two eggs, a teaspoon of soda, a glass of sour milk, two glasses of flour, a packet of vanilla sugar, fruit.

Preparation. Sugar and eggs carefully mix, in this mixture, pour in sour milk, which is added soda. Stir well, combine with flour and vanilla sugar and mix again. The dough should eventually become liquid.

In the oiled (creamy) form, put fruit on the bottom, pour the dough on top. Cook half an hour at a temperature of about 180 degrees (the oven should be hot when the mold is put into it).

Ingredients: sour milk (225 ml), flour (300 g), small apples (2 pcs.), Sugar (100 g), one egg, baking powder and vanilla essence (2 teaspoons), vegetable oil (60 ml ), Salt (½ tsp), sprinkling: cinnamon and sugar (1 tsp each).

Preparation. Cut apples into small cubes, chop nuts. In a large deep bowl, mix the flour with salt, baking powder and sugar. In a separate bowl, beat the egg, combine it with vegetable oil, sour milk and vanilla essence. Pour the resulting mixture into a bowl and knead the ingredients until smooth. Add chopped nuts and apple slices, mix.

Fill the mold with a dough (approximately 2/3, as the dough rises during cooking) and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Cook 20 minutes in a heated oven (180 degrees).

Donuts on sour milk

Ingredients: flour (1 kg), sour milk (500 ml), eggs (3 pcs.), Water (250 ml), yeast (10 g), powdered sugar, vegetable oil (500 ml), salt to taste.

Preparation. Eggs whipped with milk, combine with water and dissolved in her yeast. All this is poured into flour, kneaded with a soft dough and left for an hour. After 60 minutes, roll the dough into a thin layer and cut out the round lozenge. Fry in vegetable oil until golden, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve to the table.
