Once there was no need to even dream about the variety that we see today on the shelves of the wallpaper showrooms. Today, manufacturers please us with goods for every taste and purse. In addition to a huge number of colors and patterns, there are several standards of length and width of the roll. Why is this necessary? Why is it so important to be able to choose the size of the wallpaper on the roll? Professionals say that this helps to reduce costs, optimally pick the right area, minimize the amount of unused balances. Yes, and the features of the room dictate their conditions: somewhere it is more convenient to work with a narrow strip, but somewhere with a wide band.

Classics of the genre

In Soviet times all wallpaper industry worked on the standard. The size of the wallpaper on the roll in those days was the same for the whole country. The width of the roll was 53 cm, and the length was 10.05 m.

Today, domestic manufacturers often use the same standard. Time has shown that these dimensions are convenient for painters, and the number of joints on the walls is not so great, it is perceived quite organically.

In the wallpaper shop you can find a wide variety of wallpapers with such sizes. At the same time, the price range is very wide. It can be a wallpaper, the price for a roll of which starts with just one and a half dollars. But the same size is often the wallpaper of the elite class, produced in small print runs and, accordingly, very expensive.

Firstly, the absolute majority of wallpaper length of 15 meters has a uniform color without local elements. This is the very "no selection", about which everyone dreams, who have ever had time to suffer with a drawing. The lack of the need to combine the pattern significantly saves time on cutting and sticking, and the amount of waste is minimal. And the seams are perfectly disguised.

As for the quality of the coating, in most cases it is a question of ordinary heavy vinyl. Counting the number, take into account that the area of one roll is exactly one and a half times more than the standard. If, for example, you need 9 rolls of wallpaper in your room, then 15 meters will only need 6. The cost depends on the manufacturer and starts at about 4-5 dollars per roll. The upper limit of the price range is difficult to determine. Among domestic production there are types of 10-15 dollars, and imports can cost much more.

Wide format

Very popular size of wallpaper in a roll, twice as large as the standard. At the same length (10.05 m), the width of the strip is 1.06 meters. Imagine how much less seams on the walls! And with competent sticking, they will be invisible at all.

This is more expensive wallpaper. The price for a roll starts at $ 15. But gluing them is much easier! The thing is that the decorative vinyl layer is not set on a paper base, but on a non-woven base. This material is thinner and soaks faster, so it does not need to be applied with glue. It is enough to smear them with a wall, attach a sheet of wallpaper to it and carefully smooth it. This greatly reduces the time it will take to repair.

Euro standard

Abroad, the width of the wallpaper is as wide as 0.7 meters. From Germany, Holland and France, they began to be supplied to our stores several years ago. During this time, they are very fond of both buyers and masters.

Since in our country such wallpaper is not produced yet, the whole range is imported. The prices for such wallpapers are very high. But among this category there are simply incredible designs. By the way, some of them are designed for horizontal gluing of strips, decoration of local blocks, paintings, panels. They are widely used for zoning space and creating unique design solutions.

Maxi format

An excellent solution for those who love change, do not be afraid of experiments - wallpapers for painting. They are white in color and, as a rule, have a very pronounced relief. These wallpaper, whose length and width are much larger than all the others, seem incredibly massive. The meter's height and diameter of 20-25 centimeters create the illusion of enormous weight. In fact, they are light - and the fleece, used as a base, and applied to it foamed vinyl, weigh very little.

Their crest is as easy as all non-woven linens. Simply apply glue on the wall, attach a strip, carefully smooth with a special spatula. Do not forget that for flizelin need glue with the appropriate marking on the package. The size of the wallpaper on the roll: 1,06 x 25 meters. By area, one such roll is five ordinary!

Non-standard kinds of wallpaper

There are many special wallpapers that make of bamboo, reed sticks and much more. Today, popular 3D wallpapers, wallpaper-coloring, wallpaper with a "surprise", in which the main pattern is hidden under a special washable cover.

Photo wallpapers have the widest choice of sizes. Information about them is contained on the packaging. The width of 3D wallpaper does not usually exceed one and a half meters, otherwise it will be too difficult to transport.
