Shmarakov Roman, "The Book of the Starlings"

Tula writer Shmarakov Roman Lvovich gained fame in many respects thanks to his translations from the Latin of the ancient Roman poets. At the moment he runs his blog on one of the well-known portals, and also works on his own compositions.

The main essence of the book

In 2015, Roman Shmarakov released the book "The Book of the Starlings." This work is written in the genre of historical prose. However, the presentation of events related to historical facts is unique and rather peculiar. The author takes the reader to the 13th century and reveals to him an amazing image of the thoughts and knowledge of Italian monks of that time.

The book is built on the dialogue of three monks of different generations. There is also a wise old man, and a mature man who has spent a busy life a man, and a young man who still has much to understand in life and everything is interesting to learn. Shmarakov Roman skillfully and subtly manipulates various real facts, myths and biblical tradition, organically weaving them into the discussion of the characters.

Plot and characters

The motivation for the beginning of the dialogue of the heroes of the work is an anomalous event: a huge gathering of starlings near the monastery. The monks begin to have different kinds of associations and memories. The old-kelar presents positive, not devoid of fiction and mysticism facts. A younger character, hospitals, has a certain degree of rationalism, he also knows the story well, but for the most part its tragic moments. His stories are more mundane, he tries to find good in everything.

A young man named Fortunat Shmarakov Roman takes a small role in his work. This is understandable, the young man was just an involuntary witness to the appearance of starlings. He is just starting his conscious life, so there are more questions in his head than answers. However, its presence is of practical importance. After all, he asks questions to the cellar, just such as any reader would like to ask. Thus, the reader as it were directly communicates with the ancient sage.

Author Shmarakov Roman recalls everything that is known in the history of the starlings, as a sign from above. But the obsession with these birds can not be traced. On the contrary, the narrative is full of various and unusual other signs of fate, the interpretations to which could be one, and as a result, the circumstances developed quite differently.

Who is this book for?

This book is a wonderful exercise for the mind. To understand the long monologues of the characters, you need a good concentration from the reader. The book certainly makes you think about many things, while striking with its logical construction of dialogues. The author adheres to the peculiarities of the manner of communication of educated people of the beginning of the 13th century, which are complex for perception, thus very interesting to real scholars. Therefore, superficial reading will lead to the reader simply not catching the meaning and postpone reading.

"The book of the starlings" is not at all a chaotic collection of unusual ancient stories. This is not a book of fairy tales, much less for children. It is imbued with a philosophy that only adults can understand. Shmarakov Roman confronts two fundamentally different views on life. Monks argue, but at the same time they keep respect for each other and brotherly love.
