Secondary education in Russia. Change again

Education has always been not indifferent to our compatriots, evidence of the literacy of ordinary people (birch bark letters in Novgorod the Great) refer to such an antiquity, when in Europe and kings signed, putting a cross.

But the education system in Russia was complicated.

The school, which we now call secondary, was a class. Education was classical and had its ultimate goal of entering the university. Secondary education in Russia has become more accessible since the beginning of the 19th century, when gymnasiums and parochial schools began to be actively created.

For a long time after this, the education system was rather confused. Primary education was represented by various schools and parochial schools. There were schools, as we would now say, of an in-depth type.

Secondary education in Russia was represented by male and female gymnasiums, real and commercial schools, institutes of noble maidens and cadet corps. This is not a complete list of institutions where children could get a secondary education. In Russia, many were striving for this, there were a lot of talented people from the people.

After the revolution, secondary education in Russia, that is, then in the RSFSR, became free of charge by law. The Constitution enshrined people's right to education, and since the rights were then somewhat imposed, this right became simultaneously a duty. Twenty years later, all the children growing up in our country receive education. And they receive a single program, which is taught both in the countryside and in Moscow.

The school in Russia acquires a special status and significance. It is the school now - not only the place where they teach to write and count, but also ideologically treat children. Pioneer organization, which necessarily takes all children - the first step on the way to the party. Children not only socialize in the Soviet school, but "polish", are adjusted to the general standard of Soviet society.

Parents often tried to find among the completely identical the best. Often these were language schools or schools with in-depth study of mathematics.

After all, then a good secondary education is then not only an opportunity to enter a university without a bluff and tutors (which most families could not afford), but also a broad view, additional opportunities.

School after perestroika began to change one of the first. As soon as the restrictions were lifted, author programs and in-depth courses flooded the children.

Now the situation has changed unprincipled. On the general background, only two topics attract attention: paid secondary education in Russia and the restriction on admission to the first class is not on registration, introduced this year.

Concerning the paid formation of excitement did not cease for several years. They promised that from September 2012 only three subjects will remain free. But so far such a law has not been introduced. Perhaps, a public opinion survey was conducted and it became clear that it would cause too many protests.

But the new rules of admission to school, which only touched first-graders, introduced. Now you can only get to school in your neighborhood.

Secondary education is changing again, society is changing with it.
