Sanitation in gynecology: methods of performing and medicines

Vaginal sanitation is a procedure for treating the external genitalia with antiseptic drugs. Such manipulations are carried out for various indications. The procedure is prescribed by the attending physician. In this case, sanation in gynecology is part of anti-inflammatory therapy. In some cases, similar procedures are performed before surgery.

Is it so necessary to readjust

Modern technology allows us to produce more effective drugs to combat many diseases. However, the number of women suffering from vulva-vaginal diseases does not decrease with each passing year. As the statistics show, almost 2/3 of the patients who applied for help to specialists have pathogenic microflora, which has a mixed character. In this case, an integrated approach is required in the treatment of inflammatory processes.

What is sanation? In gynecology, during pregnancy and some infectious diseases, external genital organs are treated. This makes it possible to exclude the possibility of a woman entering into the reproductive organs of pathogenic microorganisms. For the treatment of infectious diseases with a mixed microflora, several drugs are used at once.

When is the procedure assigned?

Sanitation in gynecology is used quite often. This procedure allows you to restore the microflora of the vagina. It can be carried out not only in a hospital, but also at home. Vaginal sanitation is prescribed when:

  • Vaginitis bacterial;
  • Infections of viral and fungal infections;
  • Nonspecific viral states;
  • Inflammatory process of the organs of the reproductive system located in the small pelvis.

During the research

Sanitation in gynecology is used to prepare the organs for certain studies, implying penetration into the uterine cavity. This avoids inflammation. Such training is conducted before:

  • Oncocytology;
  • Colposcopy;
  • Hysteroscopy.

In addition, the procedure is performed before any kind of surgery, as well as before the introduction of the intrauterine device.

Sanitation during pregnancy

In the presence of certain medical indications, sanation can be performed during pregnancy. Most often, the procedure is prescribed when an urogenital infection is detected. Especially relevant is sanation in those cases when the probability of penetration into the uterine cavity of pathogenic microorganisms is high. This kind of treatment can be carried out even in the early stages of pregnancy.

It should be noted that in the third trimester, approximately on 35-36 week, the woman in the vagina begins to actively breed the candidate fungus. During this period of pregnancy, the use of systemic drugs is contraindicated, since they can damage the birth canal, as well as cause swelling of the mucous membranes.

However, a woman must get rid of thrush. Otherwise, when the baby passes through the birth canal infection occurs. It is for this reason that sanation is performed before childbirth. The procedure is performed as a therapeutic manipulation.

Sanitation is carried out on an outpatient basis with the use of proven drugs and sterile instruments. At the same time, a comfortable environment is created for a pregnant woman.

What should be the preparations

Preparations for sanation in gynecology are selected individually for each patient. Such medicines should have the following qualities:

  • A high index of drug activity should not be blocked by the presence of pathological blood or purulent discharge;
  • The drug should have a pronounced effect against the simplest microorganisms;
  • Have antiviral, antimicrobial and antifungal activity of a wide spectrum;
  • Act efficiently and quickly.

The main groups of antiseptics

Sanitation in gynecology is carried out with the use of antiseptics. Such medicines are divided into three main categories:

  • Drugs with a narrow spectrum of therapeutic activity: antifungal medicines, metranidazole and clindamycin;
  • Polycomponent preparations having such a disadvantage as inhibition of the growth of lactobacilli;
  • Drugs that have a nonspecific effect and act selectively. May provoke an allergic reaction.

What drugs are popular

Recently in gynecology often began to use a drug such as "Chlorhexidine." This substance is used for sanitation before the surgical intervention, as well as for the therapy of inflammatory processes. The drug actively affects pathogenic microorganisms, providing an antiviral, bactericidal and antimycotic effect. It is worth noting that "Chlorhexidine" does not inhibit the growth of lactobacilli. This drug is used in a hospital.

Not so long ago, on the shelves of pharmacies, a new drug, "Geksicon" appeared. This drug has a wide range of activities. Produce it in the form of candles for intravaginal use. In addition, it is much more convenient to use than "Chlorhexidine". In gynecology, candles for sanitation are allowed to be used at home.

Types of sanitation

Sanitation in gynecology is carried out not only with the use of creams, tablets, suppositories and solutions. There are other methods that can handle external genitalia:

  • Ultrasonic sanitation;
  • Vacuum-sanitation.

These types of procedures are safe for women's health and painless. However, the methods have their contraindications. For example, vacuum sanation can not be performed before childbirth, during pregnancy, and also for certain diseases: salpingitis, cervicitis, allergic reactions, endometritis and cystitis. The ultrasound method is not used during vaginal bleeding.

What is vacuum sanitation?

It is carried out using a special vacuum device. The unit generates vibrations and has a directional effect. In carrying out this procedure, broad-spectrum medicines are also used.

Thanks to the apparatus, the dead and dead cells of the mucous membranes are carefully removed, and the medicinal solutions penetrate more deeply into the inner layers of the tissues. This method of sanitation allows you to wash the infection. Most often the procedure is performed with mycoplasmosis, gardenerellosis, candidiasis, chlamydia and when a human papillomavirus is detected.

Ultrasonic Reclamation

Ultrasonic sanation in gynecology is carried out for the treatment of infectious diseases. Often the procedure is prescribed for vulvovaginitis, colpitis, endometritis.

In the course of ultrasonic sanation, small bubbles of oxygen arise. Due to this, dead cells of the mucous membranes exfoliate. This allows drug solutions to penetrate deeper into tissues and more effectively fight diseases.

How long does the treatment last

Therapy can last up to 3 weeks. First, it is necessary to destroy the pathogenic microflora and to remove the inflammation. After that, the vagina is sown with bacteria that benefit the female body. To do this, use probiotics, which include bifido- and lactobacilli. You can take these drugs orally. With bacterial vaginosis, many women may experience intestinal dysbacteriosis. If it is not cured, the inflammatory process in the vagina can begin anew.
