How correctly to calculate the days of ovulation?

When consciously planning pregnancy, it is important not only to try to normalize your daily routine, get enough sleep, if possible, to give up smoking, drinking alcohol and harmful food, but also to know about the physiological processes that occur every month in the woman's body. In fact, it is possible to try to conceive a child in an unfavorable period for more than a month without results.

Given that the onset of pregnancy is possible only within 24 hours after the release of the oocyte, it is important to be able to correctly calculate the days of ovulation. Of course, with good motor activity of spermatozoa and a favorable environment for them in the uterus, they can live in it for about 5 days, while retaining the ability to fertilize. That is why it is believed that a woman can become pregnant only for several days in the middle of a monthly cycle.

Ideally, with a 28-day cycle, the egg should leave the ovary on day 14, counting from the first day of the onset of the last menstrual period. But for many girls it's not so easy to calculate the days of ovulation: some have an irregular cycle, others have a period not lasting 14 days after the release of the egg, as described in the textbooks, and 10. To find out when you are still having this process, There are many methods, however, each of them has different reliability. To calculate favorable days for pregnancy, you can do tests for ovulation, monitor the cervix, the nature and intensity of discharge, measure basal temperature and even regularly do ultrasound diagnosis. By the way, the last method is one of the most reliable: with the help of ultrasound it is possible to determine the size of the follicles, look at the endometrium and suggest the date of rupture of the dominant follicle and the onset of ovulation.

But the majority in order to calculate the days of ovulation, measures the basal temperature. The main drawback of such testimony is that you will find out about the moment of release of the egg after a couple of days after this event. So, before the follicle has to burst, the temperature may drop a little, and after the onset of ovulation, go up sharply. It is the leap of BT that speaks about the fact of the egg's release. By the time she rises she left the ovary a long time ago and, most likely, is no longer ready for fertilization. But if you measure every day for several months, you can already more or less reliably assume when the basal temperature should rise. Ovulation will occur before this day.

The combination of everyday morning measurements with tests in which the test strip becomes brighter than the control one 1-2 days before the egg leaves, can give a reliable result about the estimated date of possible conception.

Of course, you can try to calculate the days of ovulation without using any indications or additional studies, but relatively accurately this can be done only with a regular cycle. It should be noted that from this moment until the next menstruation usually lasts from 10 to 14 days, for many this period lasts 12 days. Thus, you can find out the approximate days of ovulation and actively try to conceive the baby at this very moment. But to use such a calculation to protect is risky.
