Rules, wedding without which it is impossible

Today, no one is surprised by the fact that it is the wedding that has outlived itself. Few people resort to such a sacrament, and if anyone decides, then hardly understands the whole essence and purpose of this rite. But everyone knows that the wedding is nothing more than marriage, which is the very Lord God in heaven. However, in each religion, this ritual takes place taking into account a number of rules, the wedding without which it is impossible. So every nation has its own rules, but they all bear the same meaning, aimed at combining the destinies of two loving hearts.

Wedding is an Orthodox tradition, which is rooted in the distant past. This sacrament has long existed in order to emphasize the immateriality, namely the spirituality of the union of two people. The main requirement for a young couple is full consent to participate in the sacrament of the wedding on a voluntary basis. After all, young people need to be sure that they really need a wedding, they are ready to honor and observe all the Christian commandments in the future. The wedding is somewhat similar to what you used to read in fairy tales, because this process is so unlike what happens when formal registration of marriage in the registry office.

Wedding Rules

The main requirement for the wedding in the church is to reach adulthood. This age is determined by the state itself. The bereaved should be believers, and faith must be truly sincere. In order for the wedding to take place both must be baptized in the Orthodox Church. As a rule, the church does not recognize divorce. However, if you decide to dissolve the bonds of marriage, then you need to turn to the church priest and only if he finds it necessary to divorce you, it will happen. Nevertheless, such cases are quite rare. After all, marriage is dissolved only by permission of the bishop of this church and for this there must be good reasons. For example, one of the spouses lost faith in God or left the family of his own free will, was sent to prison or for compulsory treatment because of mental disorders.

There are also cases when already divorced people meet their loved one and they have a desire to re-marry in the church. However, they must be prepared for the fact that repeated marriages are very rare in the church, and for this it is necessary to obtain the consent of the ministers of the church.

Wedding ceremony in Orthodoxy

Since the days of Ancient Rus, young people who have married have applied to the church, where the Orthodox wedding took place. They had to swear an oath to God, represented in this procession in the person of the church and the priest, that they would never break this union. However, today people should understand that the rules of the wedding in the church provide for a number of requirements for young people, which they will have to fulfill without question for many years. Newlyweds should be sure that they are ready to love and respect each other, participate in the upbringing of their own children, always support and protect each other.

The basic rules of the wedding in Orthodoxy include the observance of a certain fast for seven to ten days, and just before the wedding itself, young people must pass the sacrament. Do not forget about the attire of the bride, because her dress should preferably white, the arms, shoulders and décolleté are covered. You also need a hat or a veil, but the face must be open. And, of course, before the wedding, young people should be blessed with their parents.

Thus, the rules of the wedding do not require the young to do anything supernatural. All that young people need to come to church is love and confidence in their decision.
