North Ossetian Theater: Performances and Actors

Have you heard anything about the North Ossetian theater? It is a worthy cultural place, where you can go with the whole family. Consider the article performances, history, reviews, as well as talk about the actors of the theater.

History of the Ossetian Theater

Before talking about our main topic on the North Ossetian theater, it should be said that in the beginning of the last century there was basically no professional national theater in Ossetia. But instead there was the Russian Theater, which at that time already possessed sufficient experience.

Before the revolution, the Russian Theater managed to stage several Gorky plays. In 1902, was staged the novel "Foma Gordeev." In the winter of the same year, the premiere of the performance "Meshchan" was held. In 1907-1909, the active director and actor P. Medvedev put on such performances as The Brothers Karamazov, The Storm, etc.

Why do we pay such attention to the Russian drama theater? The fact is that he trained and educated the Ossetian audience. That is why the Drama Theater arose from the depths of the Russian Theater, to which the article will be devoted. The actors and directors of the Russian Theater (D. Koroyov, E. Britaev, B. Totrov, etc.) visited the idea of creating a drama theater.

In the 20-30s of the last century, theatrical art began to develop rapidly in North Ossetia, but the main role still belonged to the Russian Theater. Around the same time in Vladikavkaz worked M. Bulgakov, creating "Days of Turbins."

Creation of theater

In 1931, the leadership of the State Institute of Theatrical Arts. Lunacharsky was approached by the authorities of North Ossetia. They asked several young people to attend the school. In the summer of 1935, when young people were graduating from an educational institution, they formed the troupe of the Ossetian national theater. The North Ossetian Theater was created in the autumn of 1935. The event was very bright, as the opening waited a long time. The theater opened with A. Korneychuk's play "Plato Krechet". From 1936 to 1941, only 36 plays were staged on the stage, of which 16 belonged to the pen of Ossetian authors.

After the war

The war made its corrections to the activities of the North Ossetian Drama Theater. In the postwar period, many plays were devoted to the burdens and charms of rural life. Quite interesting is that at this time the main genre is the comedy. It is believed that the performance of "Grooms" by A. Tokayev is one of the best examples of post-war comedy. It was shown not only in all theaters of the country, but even in Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia and Poland.

Performances

The performance of the Ossetian theater has always been something magical, divorced from reality and magical. Perhaps, it was for this theater that the Ossetians became so fond of them. Here they showed different performances, for every taste. As we already know, after the war the main theme of the productions was rural life. But do not underestimate the role of the revolution and war, which were also present in the repertoire of the theater. However, the artists were most attracted to classical productions. Most of the audience liked the "King Lear" W. Shakespeare, "Gypsy" A. Pushkin, "Without guilt" A. Ostrovsky. When the theater was 5 years old, the play "Othello" was staged on the stage. He continued for a long time on the stage of the North Ossetian Theater, as he became one of the favorites for the audience. In addition, the performer of the main role was the inimitable V. Thapsaev, who won the love and recognition of the audience.

Actors of the Ossetian Theater

The theater quickly became a favorite place for spending leisure time among the Ossetians. Diploma performances of actors ("Platon Krechet", "Liar", "Flying Doctor", "Attorney Patten") were received by the audience with great enthusiasm. Gradually, the theater entered the life of the Ossetians. In many respects it was contributed by the very first actors of the theater who glorified him in the world: S.Tautiev, B.Borukaev, V.Cirikhov, V.Ballaev, I.Kokaev, V.Makiev, etc. All these names are remembered and honored by Ossetians Since these people wrote the history of the theater. The first actors of the theater created to him the glory that exists until now. It is to them that the theater owes such attention to the public.

We can say that the cultural institution flourished due to the graduates of the Ossetian branch of GITIS. But in parallel with this ripened a new pleiad of talented artists who were to glorify their favorite theater even more. It is about pupils of the Russian Theater (Vladikavkaz) V. Thapsaev and V. Karginova. As we already know, V.Thapsaev won the public's love with the role of Othello. But this was only the beginning of his career. After that he played in hundreds of performances and in each of them was inimitable. However, he entered the list of the best performers of Shakespeare's repertoire in the whole world! Critics of those times wrote in the newspapers that, watching how V. Thapsaev plays, you understand that this is exactly what the hero himself saw in W. Shakespeare, that was the hero in fact. The activities of this outstanding actor received the highest marks not only in Russia, but throughout the world. In the autumn of 1960, V.Thapsaev (Balo) was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR. Together with him such a reward was given to M. Tsalikov, V. Ballaev, T. Karyaeva, E. Tumenova.

40-50s

This period became very bright for the North Ossetian Opera and Ballet Theater. At this time, such people as K. Slanov, V. Khugaeva, Z. Kochisova, N. Salamov worked here. The theater was actively developing in the music sphere. More and more often performances are staged on the works of Russian and world classics: "Carmen" by J. Bizet, "Tosca" by D. Verdi, "Demon" by A. Rubinstein.

To date, the North Ossetian Drama Theater is still in demand. It is loved by spectators and tourists. The theater itself still occupies a leading place in the dramatic culture of the republic.

Modernity

In 1993, the North Ossetian Theater received the title "Academic". He was also given the name of the famous and talented actor V. Thapsaev. The leadership of this theater still remains, thanks to the fact that old actors are replaced by new ones, no less bright and talented. In 2000, the play "Bitter rhymes" was staged. It was dedicated to the life and work of Kosta Khetagurov.

In the past 10 years, the North Ossetian theater has faced some problems. The main one lies in the absence of a professional national play that meets the needs of modern times. The desire of the theater to preserve its cultural identity leads to the fact that obsolete ones, archaic plays are shown that do not cause the viewer any more vivid emotions. This trend has slowed down the development of the theater, did not allow it to keep pace with the times. This problem was discussed at the 1st and 2nd national theater festivals of the North Caucasus under the title "Scene without borders". They passed in Vladikavkaz in 2000 and 2002. Participants of the festivals were representatives of all the theaters of the North Caucasus. Holding this event showed community, friendship and need for each other. The main thing that the participants took from this event is that it is necessary to enrich themselves with cultural ties, and not concentrate around one thing. The Forum contributed to the strengthening of the artistic theatrical and theatrical life of Russia and the preservation of stability in the Caucasus.

The main artists of the theater today are doing a lot to give him a second wind. The main artist is A. Kubalov, and the production designer is E. Vergeles. The staff of the staff is small, but all of them are active and talented people who make every effort to return to the North Ossetian theater of former glory.

Repertoire

The repertoire of the theater is represented by classical works. There are, of course, other performances, but the emphasis is on classical motifs. In the near future in the hay are such productions:

  • "Tzola."
  • "Tartuffe".
  • "Romeo and Juliet".
  • "Two weddings."
  • The Inspector General.

Also waiting for the audience are several premieres: Frozen, Farewell, ravine, Old House, Love, Do not Love, Bad Guys. Often there are children's performances: "Vovka in the far end of the kingdom", "Hare Happiness", "Teremok". The children are also expected to premiere: "The Kingdom of Flowers", "Ali Baba and 40 songs of the Persian Bazaar."

Reviews

Reviews about the Ossetian theater are different, we can say that they are divided. Some people really like that the theater remains faithful to the old traditions. Such people like classical productions, so they happily attend the theater. But such a minority. Others want to see something new, meeting the requirements of modernity. This part of the audience complains about the monotonous repertoire, the lack of new trends.

Summing up, I want to say that the North Ossetian theater is a place that is definitely worth a visit. In any case, it has a rich history. Yes, it remains true to the old traditions, but they can enchant an unsophisticated viewer, show him all the richness of colors and emotions of classical works.
