Republic of Crimea: population of the Russian peninsula and statistics of 2015

As before, one of the most pressing and discussed topics in the whole world is the Crimea peninsula. The population of the Russian republic continues to experience a transition period associated with the accession of the former autonomy to the Russian Federation. Well, strangely enough, but not everyone is happy about what happened. Much has undergone the Crimea. The population has changed, a new currency has appeared, others have become prices, salaries. Well, then it is worth talking about all this in more detail to get into the course of the problem.

Prehistory

Everyone knows that one of the most multinational peninsulas is Crimea. The population in this place is really full of variety. Russians, Byelorussians, Germans, Greeks, Jews, Armenians, Ukrainians, Crimean and Kazakh Tatars - who does not live here! Indeed, as you can see, a very multi-ethnic population of the Republic of Crimea. But it's worth noting one interesting nuance. After the well-known referendum on March 16, when the residents of the republic finally decided on their return to the Russian Federation, the number of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians living on the Crimean peninsula significantly diminished. Compare the statistics of 2001 with the year 2014! Then Ukrainians were 24.4%, Crimean Tatars - 12.1%. After the referendum, 16% and 10%, respectively. Russian was 58.5%, and it was 65.2%! You can see how the metrics have changed. The number of representatives of other nationalities has not diminished - as it was, it remains.

Changing statistics

Why did the Crimea, whose population was so diverse, drastically "impoverished" Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars? The question is very serious, and it is difficult to answer it in brief. But really. Well, Ukrainians decided to return to their "historical homeland," flatly refusing to accept what is clear, as God's day. That is, that the peninsula, in fact, always belonged to Russia and was given to a neighboring country because it happened. Everyone knows that situation. And the Crimean Tatars ... this is a separate issue. It is even unclear why the representatives of this nationality so revere an allegedly independent Ukraine. Most likely, there remained the fear of deportation, which occurred in May 1944, and they can be understood. Well, so far the hostile mood has not passed completely and last, most likely, there will be more than one five-year anniversary, but it remains to hope for the resourcefulness and prudence of people.

Latest information

So, in 2015, at the beginning of June, a conference was held in Yalta devoted to issues related to the current population of the Crimea. It is 2.2 million people. This is the most recent, recent data. The population of Russia with the Crimea, respectively, according to the latest statistics, increased to 146.3 million people! For some it seems that two million from above is a drop in the ocean, but a whole republic has joined.

Everyone knows that the peninsula includes such a wonderful city-hero, like Sevastopol. A real legend. In addition, from now on - a city of federal significance! White stone handsome man, in whose territory 400 000 people live. Thus, Crimea is ranked 27th in Russia in the population rating, and the hero city descended to 77th place.

So, who and in what quantity lives on the territory of the Republic of Crimea? The population consists of 53.9% of women and, correspondingly, 46.1% of men. Like almost everywhere, the number of girls exceeds the percentage of boys.

The largest cities recognized (with the exception of Sevastopol with a special status) were Simferopol, Kerch, Yalta and Yevpatoria with Feodosia. In the Crimean capital there live 350 600 people, in Kerch - two times less, ie 147 000. Yalta, or, as it is also called, the Crimean Pearl, has 133 600 people on its territory. And Evpatoria with Feodosia - 119 000 and 101 000. Statistics are very fresh, the population census conducted less than a year ago, so that the data - the most that neither is reliable.

Results and conclusions

Well, as you could understand, Crimea is a rather big republic. And now it is worthwhile to draw some conclusions.

The most "Russian" city on the whole peninsula is Sevastopol. He was called that way all the time. On its territory about 99% of people are Russians. Now not only by nationality, but also by citizenship. In general, the national composition is quite large. The most numerous, except Russian, Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians, are also Belarusians, Kazakhs and Armenians. Representatives of other nationalities live in less than 3%. Interestingly, about 4% of people did not indicate their belonging to a particular group during the census. Count "nationality" was left empty.

According to statistics, it was found that 99.8% of the inhabitants of the federal district own the Russian language, that is, the state language. 84% of all said that this is their native language. 8% of those called the Crimean Tatar. The Ukrainian language is native only for three percent, and the traditional Tatar for four.

And finally, such data: 98% of all have already a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, 2% have an identity card of other states, 0.2% do not have citizenship at all.
