Removable formwork for the basement foundation with their own hands

The project of your future house is ready, now it is necessary to determine the type of soil on the site and the approximate mass of the structure. After all, it directly depends on which foundation is better to build. If the soil is complex, friable and marshy, the optimal option is Ribbon foundation. Tape foundation is built under various designs built From different types of material (wood, stone, brick, reinforced concrete floors).

The main advantage of such a foundation is its monolithic nature. It will withstand any weight and will last for many years without deformations and cracks, which lead to slope, subsidence and even the fall of the house. Very often, they began to design basement or basement floors in the future construction, so when the foundation is laid, the bottom of the pit or the trench is leveled horizontally. But before pouring the structure with concrete, you need a formwork for the strip foundation. There are two types of formwork - removable (of wood or metal) and non-removable. Fixed polystyrene is used for non-removable formwork, which adds additional thermal insulation properties to the foundation.

Step-by-step installation of the formwork for the strip foundation

  1. After leveling the bottom of the excavation or trench, a sand cushion of 100 to 150 cm in height is poured in, which is carefully compacted.
  2. The formwork for the strip foundation can be industrial production or made by hand. Take boards with a thickness of 20 to 25 mm and knock them into shields. Be sure to take into account the fact that the boards should be 50-100 mm above the foundation.
  3. Making the foundation of the foundation, consider the vertical and horizontal sides. When installing it, make sure that it does not deviate vertically and is level. To do this, use a water level or level, because the correctness and accuracy of the formwork depends on the straightness and durability of the walls of the house.
  4. Fix the shields in the trench with the help of racks.
  5. To prevent deformation and bending of the shield during pouring with concrete, the formwork under the belt foundation is strengthened by spacers or ground. Metal stands are attached to the wooden stands, and then attached to the formwork with the help of a wire.
  6. Seal all walls of the formwork with cardboard, roofing paper or paper to reduce the consumption of concrete.
  7. If your foundation pit is not very deep or dug by hand, and the ground is loamy or clay, then the formwork for the foundation can not be needed. The role of the formwork in such a trench will be performed by the walls themselves.
  8. Fill the concrete, we compact it with a vibrating ramm or manually, then wait for its hardening (within 21 days). We do this in order to remove the air cavities.
  9. Then the formwork for the basement is removed. If you did not use the formwork, then you need to remove the earth from the future basement with special equipment.
  10. Internal vertical walls of the basement are waterproofed with hot bitumen.
  11. You can start building the main walls of the house.
