Primorsk is a small resort town on the shore of the Sea of Azov, located 40 km to the west of Berdyansk. Located in the mouth of the river Obitochka, flowing into the Sea of Azov. History

On the territory of Primorsk, archaeologists have discovered the remains of sites of ancient people of the Middle Paleolithic period. In 1800 on the bank of the river Obitnaya serfs the same village was founded. In 1817, on the orders of the Duke of Richelieu, who at that time was the governor of the Novorossiysk region, construction of the Azov port began. Initially, its construction was planned in the valley of the river Obitochka, but later it turned out that this place is not suitable for erecting such a structure. The port was erected on the east coast of the Berdyansk Bay (modern territory of Berdyansk).

In 1821, the village of Obbitochnoe, now Primorsk (Zaporozhye region), with the surrounding surroundings, was renamed Nogaysk. In 1813 - 1814 the Holy Trinity Church was built in connection with the victory in the war of 1812. In 1836 the church was made stone. In 1936, it was partially destroyed (the bell tower was lost). Since 1991, the church is recognized as a monument of architecture. The icon of the Kazan Mother of God, which is now in the cathedral, was preserved by the inhabitants.

Before the war in 1940, on the sea shore, the outskirts of. The mammoth skeleton was found, which was taken to Germany during the occupation period. At the moment, the find is one of the exhibits of the St. Petersburg Zoological Museum.

In 1964, Nogaysk was renamed Primorskoe, and in 1967 the town was given the status of a city. Soon the name of the city was slightly corrected to Primorsk.

During the Patriotic War, these transitions covered the city's residents and partisans. It is not known exactly where these catacombs originated. However, there are legends that even in the times of the Turkish invasions, the local residents were hiding in them, and thus fleeing from slavery.

In 1980, a landscape state reserve on the spit of the river was founded. The area is 9 thousand hectares. On its territory favorable conditions were created for the residence of a huge number of animals and birds.

Population

The population of the city is not numerous, and amounts to approximately 14 thousand people, but in the holiday season the number of residents noticeably increases several times due to visitors. With work in this city, to put it mildly, it is quite difficult. The choice here is not great. Many local residents earn on renting residential premises in the summer season, they also open small cafes and canteens, the main clientele of which are tourists. In the rest of the time, people sit without work or leave to work in other larger cities.

Economy

Primorsk (Zaporozhye region), as a resort area, is currently actively developing and being built. A huge number of boarding houses, recreation centers and children's camps are located along the estuary. There are no industrial plants in the city, which makes it environmentally friendly. The mild, mild climate, the warm sun, the therapeutic mud of the estuary create the best conditions for families with children to rest.

Every year in Primorsk, various all-Ukrainian festivals of arts and rock concerts are held, in which representatives of different national minorities of Ukraine take part.
