Plywood FC: what kind of material is it. Advantages and disadvantages, scope and application features

The modern market is filled with various sheet building and finishing materials. Among them, the characteristics of the plywood are the FK brand. Thanks to such quality as versatility, it is in demand not only among professional builders, but also among ordinary consumers who decided to make repairs or build themselves. This material can be used to decorate the walls, level the floors or use it to make furniture yourself.

So, FK plywood - what kind of material is it? Her characteristics and features you can learn by reading this article.

Features of plywood FC

Plywood FC - what is it? The abbreviation FC includes the words "plywood" and "carbamide". It is a multi-layer moisture-resistant, in the form of square cloths, a material made of peeled veneer hardwood or softwood, whose layers are glued with urea-formaldehyde resins. Fibers on all sheets of veneer used for bonding plywood are located at the same angle.

The construction of this building material is carried out in stages. First, a basic inner layer is formed and glued, which can be made from a solid veneer of any wood species or be combined. Then it is glued on both sides with sheets of veneer, which serve as a finishing lining. The use of silicate glue in the production of plywood FK slightly reduces its waterproof characteristics, however, it is possible to use plywood sheets of this grade when decorating walls, ceilings, floors inside the premises, as well as in the manufacture of formwork for the ribbon foundation, furniture production.

In most cases, hardwood plywood is used to make hardwood plywood. It differs in high strength, wear resistance, good ecological properties, decorative texture, good surface qualities. Due to the characteristics of the raw material plywood birch plywood is most in demand in comparison with other species.

Scope of application

Despite its low moisture resistance, FK plywood is used in various areas.

  1. Cladding of walls and ceilings. Quality plywood sheets that do not emit any toxic substances are suitable for covering surfaces in both residential and office buildings.

  2. Laying under the laminate, parquet. Laying plywood as a substrate improves the sound and heat insulation of the floor covering. For a lining under the laminate, sheets of 5-15 mm thick are used. Before installation, the strips are sawn to squares, so that no internal stress of the material occurs, so for this purpose, low-grade plywood can be used to cut out the unsuitable parts. Under the parquet, the plywood backing is made one-piece. Its thickness should be at least 2/3 of the height of the parquet board.

  3. Furniture manufacture. For the production of interior items, high quality plywood is used. They use it to make armchairs, sofas, various shelves, boxes.

In addition, FC plywood is used for the manufacture of exhibition stands, souvenir and packaging products.

Standards of plywood FC

Russian manufacturers produce plywood that meets all the requirements stipulated by several GOSTs, since there is no single such document for the production of this material. The standard size of plywood sheets is 1525x1525 mm. They also produce stripes with other dimensions: 1270x1525 mm, 1475x1525 mm, 1220x2440 mm. The thickness of the standard sheets is 3-24 mm.

Sort of material

There are four types of plywood FC, which are determined depending on the number of different wood defects (cracks, knots, sprouts, patches and others) on each side of the strip. Therefore, grades can have the designation "Plywood FK 2/2, 3/2, 4/2", etc.

  1. Grade one allows cracks not more than 2 cm in length.

  2. The second - provides for various wood inserts, insignificant leakage of glue.

  3. The third grade can have no more than 9-10 wormholes with a size of no more than 6 mm each.

  4. Fourth - FC-plywood of the lowest quality. This variety allows in an unlimited number of wormholes up to 4 cm in size, various edge defects.

On sale there is NS, Ш 1, Ш 2 plywood ФК. What are these designations? This is often asked by ordinary consumers who are not professionals. Depending on the degree of surface treatment, the plywood can be of two types:

  • Ground;

  • Unpolished.

Marking Ш 1 means that the plywood sheet is ground on one side; Ш 2 - on both sides; NS - unpolished, the cost of which is slightly lower.

Benefits

Plywood FC moisture-proof has a number of advantages due to which it enjoys popularity among consumers:

  • Originality of the invoice;

  • Strength, wear resistance;

  • Ecological compatibility;

  • Ease of processing;

  • Simplicity of installation;

  • Safety in use;

  • Light weight;

  • Low price.

disadvantages

The disadvantage of the material can be considered that the plywood brand FC has limitations in heat resistance and water resistance. It swells very quickly and loses its shape. In this regard, the material is recommended to use only inside the premises, since there the humidity indices are low.

How to visually distinguish plywood from FC

If you want to buy a product of this brand and do not know how it differs from its fellow Plywood plywood, what kind of material it is, you should contact the seller for help. It is also possible to determine the type by its appearance. FK-plywood differs from FB and FSF in that there are light yellow streaks of glue between the layers of veneer on the end sides of the sheet.

Rules of storage and transportation

Plywood FK should be stored in a dry, clean and covered room. Warehousing is carried out with stacks, the height of which should not exceed 5 flights with obligatory laying of blocks for gaps in 45-50 cm. The shelf life of this material is 3 years. Transportation of plywood foxes must be carried out only in covered cars or wagons.
